College overall is mid, and placements are low, and not many big companies are approaching.
Placements: SCMS Engineering College is one of the best colleges in the Ernakulam district. But the percentage placed is low. Infosys and TCS are the top recruiting companies. 12 LPA is the highest package offered in our college, and 2 LPA is the lowest. A very low percentage, like 10%, got an internship in our course. The top offered roles are supporting and call centre.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. But not all are good, like Wi-Fi is not working for everyone, and our projector is not working well. I am a day scholar, but friends told me that the food in the hostel is very bad, and they are eating food from outside hotels, but the hostel rooms are well-kept and have good facilities.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but not everyone. But they will cover the portion, whatever happens, whether you understand or not. The course is very relevant today, and there are lots of opportunities in electrical and communication engineering. Exams are not that tough. If you study for a minimum of 2 days, you can pass.
Other: I chose this because there are lots of opportunities in this course for the future. Things that should be improved are that they should add more practicals to the course. Add less theory and add a project in every semester.

Overall a complete development of a student in great environment.
Placements: The college has a good record of placements mostly in it companies like Infosys, tavant, l&t etc. And a few core companies such as mythra energy limited, mrf, indian army etc. The placement record is of about 200 students. Internship offers are less. There is an efficient placement cell avg salary offered is 3.5 lac pa.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available, onlt LAN network exists. There are well maintained labs for respective expertise area with lab assistants. There is basketball, volleyball, cricket and badminton grounds inside campus and football ground outside campus. There is free gym facility. Food quality in canteens is very good both quantity and quality wise. Hostel rooms are available for first years boys and girls inside campus and senior boys outside campus. Hostel rooms are a bit small. No such infrastructure issues.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. They have practical knowledge and introduce us to the same. There are both theory and practical classes according to the curriculum. There are around 60 students in every class. Two industrial visits are compulsory and at time of required exposure more than two are conducted. The curriculum was effective as it concentrates on both practical and theoretical aspect.
Other: There are mainly two fests conducted 9ne intercooler and other intracollege. Other than these there are ieee events other extracurricular events. There is a non profit association named h2o and NSS which AIMS at social contribution.

SSET- For those come to college only to study.
Placements: The number of placements the college advertising is little tricky. Most of the placements are in IT field irrespective of the beach you have studied. Only one student got placement in core section in my batch. Almost 12 students got placements from electrical batch which had a strength of 107 students. The placements include 6 in infopark 5 in Sutherland call centre and 1 in MITHRA, the electrical core company.
Infrastructure: College got good infrastructure facilities with well maintained labs, tremendous library and good canteen. No saparate buildings for each branch but it's good. A spacious auditorium is the main attraction. Administrative block have 6 floors with lift facilities for both students and teachers. Reading space and store room available inside the campus.
Faculty: SSET got professionally qualified and experienced professors and teachers. You will get all the support from the faculty for anything related to CURRICULUM. The disgusting nature of faculty members towards the extra curricular activities is frustrating. Will provide notes and all the portions will be taken before the exams.
Other: All the above furnished information are for non KTU students.

Satisfied with the infrastructure, cultural events, and four years of amazing college life.
Placements: The placements are average. The companies will come in every week, but almost most of them are IT based. To get the core company of your choice, then you can go to the placement pools conducting in nearby colleges. Infosys recruits the most and also Indian Army is one of the recruiters.
Infrastructure: This college has the best infrastructure when compared to other engineering colleges nearby. Its library is one of the attraction points. The college has the best canteen. This has the famous canteen in all over Thrissur and Ernakulam District. The labs have the latest and the best equipment.
Faculty: The faculty members are good. The course curriculum from 2015 has changed to KTU from MG University. All the teachers are professionally qualified, and also most of them have PhDs. Even HODs also teach their students. The college library has 10MBPS internet connection, so googling is not a limitation.
Other: For every 2 years, you have a 2-day cultural event, and every year, there is an arts fest just for the students, and also there is a platform to showcase your talent in engineering. If you opt for engineering, be warned if you are pressurised by your parents or relatives because this is not your place. Choose to engineering course, if you really want it. Don't choose or come to this college, if you are flowing with the crowd. But if you are interested in this field, then you are going to have the most amazing mature and blasting 4 years of your college life.

Good placements, infrastructure, and a great atmosphere.
Placements: Our college offers good placement opportunities. In the previous years, 35-40% of the students were placed. The main companies include UST, Global, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The previous year, we had placements from navy also. The average salary offered was about 35,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is good as it is in the middle of a rubber plantation. The atmosphere is pleasant, but one feels the campus is tightly packed with a little low in the area. Sports and extracurricular activities are given equal importance as studies. The classrooms have sufficient light, and ventilation and all the departments have their own Wi-Fi. Overall, we get a pleasant feeling from the college.
Faculty: The faculty members are usually much friendly. Most of them are young and understand the students' point of view. They are indeed very helpful in every matter concerned with the students. All the faculty members are well qualified and have much experience in teaching. The course curriculum is okay, but one feels it is packed. Most of the electrical subjects are a bit tough but can be made simpler by regular studies.
