FDDI AIST 2020 cancelled

Footwear Design and Development Institute has cancelled FDDI AIST 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Know new FDDI admission criteria for BDes and MDes admissions.

FDDI AIST has been cancelled by exam authorities due to COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown. Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) has shared that the final merit list for FDDI admissions for BDes and MDes course would be prepared based on their performance in the qualifying exam.

Candidates who have submitted their FDDI AIST application form need to mention their marks in the qualifying exam from 5 pm onwards on July 15, 2020. Aspirants need to ensure that they mention their qualifying marks till July 25, 2020.

FDDI AIST was to be conducted on May 24, but it was postponed to July 26, 2020 but now exam authorities have cancelled the exam.

New Criteria for FDDI Admissions in BDes Courses

Candidates who have applied for FDDI admissions 2020 in BDes/ BBA programmes will be allocated ranks based on their aggregate marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam. Here, the final result of candidates in AICTE approved three year Diploma will also be considered.

Further, if two or more candidates secure the same marks then the candidate who is older based on the date of birth mentioned in their FDDI AIST application form will be ranked higher.

The official website of FDDI informs, “A merit list will be prepared on the basis of above criteria, and candidates will be assigned campus and programme based on their choice, merit, and availability of seats through a counselling session for which the institute will issue guidelines in due course”.

New Criteria FDDI Admissions in MDes Courses

Candidates who have applied for FDDI admissions 2020 in MDes/ MBA programmes will be shortlisted for allocated ranks based on their aggregate marks in their graduation course. If the result for the final semester is awaited for a candidate then in such a scenario the aspirant needs to upload all the results till the penultimate semester or year.

Further, if two or more candidates secure the same marks then the candidate who is older based on the date of birth mentioned in their FDDI AIST application form will be ranked higher.

“Separate merit lists will be prepared for MDes and MBA programme on the basis of above criteria, and candidates will be assigned campus and programme based on their choice, merit, and availability of seats through a counselling session for which the institute will issue guidelines in due course”, informs the official website of FDDI AIST 2020.

Till last year, FDDI entrance exam 2020 was conducted as a Paper Based Test (PBT). On the basis of a candidate’s performance in FDDI entrance exam, he/ she was offered admission in master’s degree programmes, bachelor’s degree programmes as well as integrated programmes offered in specialisations such as Footwear Design, Leather Goods & Accessory Design, Fashion Design and Retail & Fashion Merchandise.
