UCEED Syllabus 2027 - The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay releases the syllabus for UCEED. The syllabus is released online at the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal. Part A of UCEED 2027 is administered in a computer-based test (CBT) mode and will have three sections (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ). Meanwhile, UCEED Part B has two sections: 1) Drawing-based section and 2) Design Aptitude Section. One question is asked in each section.

UCEED consists of two parts:

Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before they apply. It is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2026 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eligibility stands to be disqualified if caught.

Do timely revision of all the topics, especially the sticky concepts. Solve as many sample papers you can. Also take mock tests to get into the exam mood. Mocks will help you get an exam like ambience and you can get an idea as to how the question paper would be look like, the sections you need to attempt first, etc. Pay close attention to your health - sleep the full quote of hours, stay hydrated, do light exercise, and stay happy. UCEED Exam Pattern 2027 for Part B

UCEED Exam Preparation Strategy
The tips to prepare for UCEED 2027 are
- Go through the UCEED syllabus
- Divide the syllabus into smaller parts so that you can make a plan, for instance, which topic to study first.
- It is recommended that you complete the easy topics first.
- Once you are done with the easy topics, focus on the moderate-to-difficult topics.
- Don't spend so much time on it. Better move on or take help. If you have time left, you can always come back and tackle that topic.
If you are preparing for the exam at home, then keep the following points in mind.
- Carefully go through the exam syllabus and pattern
- Make a study timetable and stick to it, no matter what
- Solve sample papers and previous year's question papers
- Try to complete the entire syllabus, but don't waste prodigious time if you are unable to solve a problem. Either take help or move on to the next topic. If you have time, come back and tackle the problem later
- Work on your drawing and observation skills.
- Be judicious with your time.

There will be a total of around 245 seats in IITs for the UCEED 2026 B.Des Programme. IIT Bombay will offer 37 seats, IIT Delhi will have 20 seats and IIT Guwahati will have 56 seats.
No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
This environment and society section of UCEED 2026 will examine the general awareness of the candidate in environment-related matters, including climate change, population and demography, vegetation, water, pollution, natural resources, etc. The candidate also needs to study the implication of these subjects on design of products, images, infrastructure, and environment. So, the candidate must know how various facets social and cultural connections are intertwined with design, the history of the designed artefact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. The candidate must study, among others, the following topics to prepare for the section: Environmentally Sustainable Designs, Indian Cultural Background & Famous Structures, Musical instruments, Musical Maestros, Dance forms, Crafts and Dresses. History of Indian Art/Design, An overview of World Art, Art and Architecture, Social and Cultural relation with Art/Design.
The candidate has to select a participating institute at the time of filling the UCEED 2026 counseling application form. The allotment of seats will be based on the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED 2026 and college option opted for at the time of registration. The admission committee will given preference to the higher ranked candidate in the allotment process. So, to give oneself a better chance of getting admission to ones preferred college, one must try to get a higher rank.

Both institutions offer the BDes course but with completely different admission processes. IIT Indore accepts admission based on the UCEED entrance exam, while BITS Pilani considers the NID Entrance exam/ BITSAT exam result.

No, you cannot get into IIT Bombay with a UCEED cutoff rank of 20 for the BDes course. IIT Bombay 2026 admission closed at a cutoff rank of 14 for B.Des in the General category under the AI quota. Hence, candidates must target a lower cutoff rank than 2020 to secure a B.Des seat at this college.
