How to Download NIFT Admit Card 2026

The admit card for the NIFT 2026 has to be downloaded following the steps mentioned below:

  1. Click on the admit card link on the NTA NIFT website.
  2. Enter the following credentials
    • application number
    • password
    • security pin
  3. On a successful login, the admit card will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Download and save the NIFT admit card. 

Separate admit cards will be released for the NIFT 2026 Situation Test/Personal Interview. The candidate will have to download the admit card using their email ID and password. The National Institute of Fashion Technology is expected to conduct the Situation Test for NIFT 2026 in the last week of May 2026. The timings of the exams will be mentioned on the NIFT 2026 admit card for the Situation Test/ Personal Interview. NTA will release the City Intimation Slip for Stage 2 examination before releasing the admit card.

How to Fix Discrepancies in NIFT 2026 Admit Card?

To fix any of the above or similar discrepancies in the NIFT admit card 2026, follow these steps:

  • Keep your application number ready.
  • Call the NIFT NTA helpline number from 9.30 am - 5.30 pm (Monday to Friday). You may also email the help desk.
  • When writing the mail, don’t forget to mention your application number while explaining your issue clearly and logically.
  • The NTA help desk will verify your details and take the required corrective measures.
  • NTA will not issue any fresh admit cards, so you may have to appear in the exam with the same admit card.
  • You will have to carry the necessary ID proof and a clear passport-size photograph to the NIFT exam center.
  • Corrections, if any, in the admit card will be addressed by the officials after the conduct of the exam.

No, NIFT Admit card will not be sent by email or post. Candidates have to download the admit card from admission portal of National Institute of Fashion Technology. To download the admit card, click on the admit card download link and log in by entering your credentials. 

Q:   What documents do I need to carry with me to the NIFT 2026 exam centre?

Along with NIFT 2026 admit card, you must bring with you a valid photo ID proof. The photo ID proof can be any of the following documents Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, School or College ID Card or Voter ID. Candidates who fail to bring the mandatory documents will not be allowed to take the exam. Note that the candidate is also recommended to carefully go through the guidelines mentioned on the NIFT 2026 admit card. This will help the candidate stay out of trouble on exam day. For instance, the admit card will contain guidelines on what items to carry and not to carry to the exam center.

Q:   When will the admit card for NIFT 2026 be issued for the Situation Test/ Personal interview?

The NIFT 2026 admit card for the Situation Test will be released around the 3rd week of March 2026. Meanwhile, admit cards for the Personal Interview will be released around the 3rd week of March 2026. Admit cards will be released to shortlisted candidates who had completed the slot booking/ campus selection process. The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the slot booking schedule soon after the declaration of results for the NIFT written exams. All candidates who get shortlisted can book their slots. To download the admit card, the candidate will have to go to the NIFT admission portal, click on the admit card download link, and log in using their candidate log-in details.

The NTA NIFT intimation slip is a preliminary document that informs candidates about the exam date and centre details. The Situation Test/ Personal Interview (PI) are the 2nd stage of the NIFT 2026 entrance exam. Candidates were shortlisted for the Situation Test/ PI based on the NIFT 2026 written exam scores.

Note that if the candidate fails to qualify for the 2nd stage, he or she is not considered for admission to various design courses offered by the NIFTs.

The only exception is B.F.Tech program, where the merit list for admission will be prepared solely on the basis of GAT scores.

In the case of other courses, the merit list will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ PI.

Q:   Can I appear in the NIFT 2026 without the admit card?
A: 

NIFT admit card is a mandatory document to appear in the design entrance exam. Candidates need to positively carry their valid admit card for NIFT Entrance Exam to their test centre, otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for the design entrance exam. Note that the security personnel at the exam centre will check the documents carried by the candidate, including the admit and photo id cards. In fact, the candidate must safely preserve the admit card until the admission process is over. It is because the candidate may be asked to produce the admit card during the counseing and seat-allotment process.

Candidates needed to report to the NIFT 2026 exam centre at least an hour in advance.

Note that the CAT paper for the B. Des and M.Des courses will be held from 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

The purpose of reporting early is to complete admission formalities, including registration, frisking, verifying the identity of the candidate, etc. Note that the exam timings and reporting time for the NIFT exam will be mentioned in the admit card.

Q:   How many test centres are there for NIFT 2026 situation test?
A: 

NIFT Situation Test will be conducted in an offline mode at the various NIFT campuses. Considering there are 19 NIFTs, the candidate will be able to select any of these institutes to appear in the Situation Test. The window to select test centres for the Situation Test will be announced soon after the declaration of NIFT results for the written exam. Test centres for the Situation Test will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. So, candidates need to book their slots as soon as possible. Note that if seats in a particular centre (or institute) fill out, the candidate will not be able to be offered slots for that institute.

NIFT 2026 Exam-day Guidelines

On NIFT exam day, you need to follow these guidelines.

  • Document checklist: The candidate has to carry their NIFT 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID proof. Don't forget to attach a passport-size photograph to the admit card.
  • Left-hand thumb impression must be put in the designated space on the admit card.
  • Reporting time: Report at the NIFT exam center at least half an hour before the commencement of the exam.
  • Items to carry: Carry your own stationery items that will be needed for the written test. 
  • Photograph: Also, carry two additional photographs (same as the one uploaded on the online application form). The photographs have to be pasted on the admit card. Note that the NIFT 2026 exam will be conducted in a center-based mode.
  • Blank paper sheets will be provided to the candidate inside the exam hall for calculations and writing work. You need to write your name and roll number at the top of each sheet. After the exam, drop the sheet in the designated Dropbox. If you don't drop the sheet in the box, your answer booklet may not be evaluated.  
  • You can carry a transparent water bottle to the exam hall. Diabetic students are, additionally, allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges). But note that packaged foods like chocolate, candy, sandwiches, etc., are not allowed.
  • Stationery: The candidate is allowed to carry a simple transparent ballpoint pen, pencils, erasers, and rulers (in a transparent pouch).
  • CAT Applicants are allowed to carry coloring and drawing material in a transparent pencil box. Also, physical question booklets with space for responses will be provided to the CAT applicant inside the exam hall. 
  • Candidates appearing in the NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) are also allowed to carry coloring (only Dry colors are allowed) and drawing materials.
  • Frisking: Proper frisking will be done at the exam center. So, make sure you are not carrying any electronic gadgets or prohibited items.

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

Q:   Can I challenge the NIFT 2026 answer key?

Yes, the candidate is allowed to challenge the draft version of the NIFT 2026 answer key.

Objections cannot be filed against the final answer key. The answer key contains the official keys to all the questions asked in the exam.

Objections against the NIFT 2026 answer key have to filed online through the candidate portal. To file objections, the candidate had to pay a fee of INR 200 per objection.

Q:   When will the NIFT 2026 application form open?

NIFT Application 2026 is closed now. The registration started on December 08, 2025. NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at  @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT is INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
