What Does the COEP MHT CET Cutoff 2026 Mean for Candidates?

COEP continues to be among the most difficult colleges to enter through MHT CET. For the GOPENS category, candidates targeting CSE need a percentile close to 100. AI & ML is similarly competitive, while ENTC, Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering also require exceptionally high percentiles.

Candidates with percentiles in the 98-99 range may have better chances in branches such as Civil and Metallurgy, depending on their category, seat type and the CAP round. However, the actual allotment depends on the candidate’s merit rank and the availability of seats in the preferred branch.

Candidates should also note that COEP accepts candidates through both Maharashtra State and All India categories. For the All India quota, the admission process uses JEE Main scores rather than MHT CET scores. In CAP Round 2, COEP CSE closed at All India merit rank 361, corresponding to a JEE Main percentile of 99.2748.

Factors Affecting COEP MHT CET Cutoff 2026

Several factors can influence the COEP cutoff in each CAP round:

  • Number of candidates: Higher competition can push closing percentiles upwards.

  • Branch preference: CSE and AI-related programmes attract the highest demand.

  • Seat availability: Cutoffs may change as seats are filled or become available in subsequent rounds.

  • Candidate category: Cutoffs differ significantly across categories and seat types.

  • CAP round: Closing percentiles can change from Round 1 to subsequent rounds.

  • Choice filling: The number of candidates prioritising a particular COEP branch directly affects its closing cutoff.

With a 51 percentile in MHT CET you might have limited options for top-tier engineering programs. Since you already possess a specialized, high-value professional course, so I think repeating an engineering/technical entrance exam to join a lower-tier private college will take you a step backward.

Sorry, but according to me with 96.09 percentile in MHT-CET through PCB, you cannot get admission to ICT for B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. The cuttoff competitively closes around 99.0 to 99.9 percentile.
