Will IIT Madras revise the GATE 2027 Last Date again

As of now, there is as such no update regarding the change in the GATE application last date. Since the registration process started late than usual, candidates can expect an extension in the GATE registration last date 2027.

This year, IIT Madras have implemented many new changes in registration, like introducing DigiLocker and facial authentication. How to fill and submit exam form before GATE Registration Last Date 2027

This year, there are specific changes in the registration process. Now, the GATE candidate registration has been replaced by DigiLocker. Once the data from DigiLocker login is fetched, candidates will be redirected to GOAPS to start filling their GATE application form. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to fill and submit before GATE 2027 registration last date. 

Step-I GATE 2027 DigiLocker Registration

First candidates have to login and update their details on DigiLocker and confirm consent. Since DigiLocker account is made mandatory, candidates are strongly advised to create or update their verified DigiLocker before accessing GATE 2027 exam form link. This avoids last-minute technical issues near the GATE application form last date. 

Step -II Sign-In Using Mobile/Laptop

Once singned in, candidates have to upload documents required for GATE registration 2027. The documents must be as per the specifications mentioned and should be uploaded and named as mentioned. With that, candidates have to provide consent to access to one valid ID for three years. By allowing access, candidates will be redirected to the GOAPS. 

Step- III Fill application form and Complete Facial Authentication

After confirming, start filling application form, gender, nationality, etc. Provide LIVE Facial Registration. The GOAPS will capture three face images. The photo must be captured from the front camera. Fill in personal, academic, and communication details correctly. Confirm declaration and enter e-signature.

Step-IV Pay Application Fees

This is the last stage of GATE 2027 registration form. Select the payment mode and category to pay GATE exam fees. Once the payment is completed, candidates are advised to keep the receipt for future references.

If a candidate applies after the regular deadline but before the extended deadline, an additional late fee will apply. Candidates who accidentally make multiple payments for one registration will get the extra amount refunded within 15 days to the source account. 

What’s New in GATE 2027

GATE exam 2027 has come up with new changes this year that every aspirant must know:

• New paper introduced: Robotics and Automation (paper code "RA") has been added as a new subject option, reflecting current industry trends. Check GATE RA syllabus 2027

• DigiLocker Integration to GATE registration, made mandatory for all Indian nationals

• Facial Authentication: A live facial verification process has been implemented to make the registration process more secure. 

• Exam syllabus changes: Some papers have updated syllabi, so candidates should download the latest official syllabus for GATE 2027 before starting preparation

• Selection of test cities revised: Candidates can now select up to six exam cities during registration. A few GATE exam centres have been revised. The submission must be done before GATE application 2027 last date

• GATE two- paper combination has been changed for some branches

GATE 2027 Exam Dates

The GATE exam schedule remains unchanged and will be conducted over three weekends in February 2027. The GATE 2027 examination dates are: Feb 6, Feb 7, Feb 13, Feb 14, Feb 20, and Feb 21, 2027. The exam will be conducted in two shifts, with exam timings mentioned below:

• Forenoon session - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

• Afternoon session - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
