For female, PwD and reserved category candidates, GATE exam fee is INR 1000 (during regular period) and INR 2000 for others during regular period. Registered candidates can apply for GATE 2027 to be held on the scheduled exam dates, Feb 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027 in two shifts.

What is the fee for GATE Exam 2027

The GATE exam fee for registration varies for General/EWS, OBC-NCL, Female, SC/ST, and PwD candidates. The IIT Madras GATE 2027 registration fee can be paid in two different timeline: during regular timeline and extended timeline. The payment for application fee is mandatory for submission of exam form. 

The GATE registration fee 2027 is completely non-refundable. However, if a candidate pays the GATE 2027 exam fee twice, then the additional amount will be refunded to the source account. How to pay GATE 2027 Registration Fees

The GATE GOAPS portal allow candidates to partially save their application form. In such case, if a candidate has not completed their payment for GATE 2027 registration or is filling the form, then they can GATE application fee following the process mentioned below.

• Continue with DigiLocker (for Indian Nationals) and direct login with enrolment ID and password (for foreign nationals)

• Complete all steps including facial registration
• Verify details and proceed to pay GATE form fees 2027 as per category

When filling the application form, candidates will get the fee payment facility after submitting and uploading all the information. Such candidates have to select accepted payment modes from the section and make the fee payment.

Is GATE Exam Fee Refundable

No, the GATE registration fee 2027 is completely non-refundable. However, if the application fee is deducted multiple times, then the additional amount will be refunded within 15 days to the source account. Candidates are advised to keep checking their account and GOAPS portal to track the status of their fee payment. Also, keep the transaction receipt carefully till the completion of GATE exam registration process is completed. 

GATE Application Fee Payment Issue

If the candidate has difficulty (for example, due to poor internet connection or power failure problems), or the candidate is not sure whether the payment has been processed or not, then the candidate should check the status of transaction from their bank account and also login back to GATE 2027 application portal after some time and check the status of the payment. 

To check GATE application status, candidates have to login to GOAPS using their enrolment ID and password. The status of GATE 2027 exam will be displayed on the screen. 

GATE 2027 Registration Fee Payment and Refund Policies

• If the payment was received by authorities, the candidate can continue submitting the GATE application form. 

• If the payment is not received by GATE 2027 exam form, a fresh payment must be initiated. 

• In case the fee amount has been debited (deducted) from the candidate’s bank account, but an acknowledgement for fee payment has not been received from Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, then the money will be credited to the same bank account within 15 working days. 

GATE Application Multiple Payment Issue

If GATE exam fee transaction is done multiple times due to technical errors, then candidates must keep the following things in mind:

• For multiple payments made due to technical glitches, with respect to one application, the extra fee paid will be credited to source account within 15 working days. 

• In case a payment confirmation has not been received, the candidate is advised to initiate a new payment without waiting for GATE exam fee refund of the earlier payment, to complete the application submission process before deadline.
