Is INSPIRE Scholarship given every year?

Yes, but students must renew it every year. They should pass the previous year exam to renew the INSPIRE Scholarship. Minimum required marks must be maintained. If conditions are not met, scholarship can stop.

Students who are passed Class 12 exams with good marks can apply for INSPIRE Scholarship. They must be among the top students of their board. They should take admission in Science courses like BSc or BS. Arts and commerce students are not eligible to apply.

Can I change the course after getting the INSPIRE Scholarship?

Can a student get INSPIRE with another scholarship?

INSPIRE Application Form 2026: The Department of Science and Technology (DST) will soon start the registrations for the INSPIRE Scholarship 2026 SHE. The conducting authority is expected to accept the application for the INSPIRE SHE Scholarship 2026 by the end of January 2026. All interested and eligible candidates need to complete the INSPIRE SHE application form 2026 in online mode through the official website of INSPIRE at online-inspire.gov.in before the deadline.

For a fresh scholarship, students can fill in the INSPIRE Application Form 2026, and they can also renew their scholarship through the same window. INSPIRE Application Form 20225-26: Steps to follow

To fill the INSPIRE Scholarship Application Form 2026, the candidates need to follow the below mentioned instructions.

Open the official website at online-inspire.gov.in.
Click on the new user registration link for a fresh scholarship or directly fill in details and click login
Enter all the basic details as asked and submit it.
Now, login with the credentials generated and the candidate dashboard will open on the screen.
Open the scholarship link and enter personal details, current educational information, 12th class details/National level competitive exam details, other details and contact details.
Now, verify all the details and submit the same.
Students should note down the application reference number/IVR No. to track Inspire scholarship status 2026.
Take a printout of the application form to refer to later
Visit the National scholarship portal to apply for other state-level and national-level scholarships

Take a printout of the submitted application and send the same to The Director, National Institute of Science, Technology & Development Studies (NISTADS), Dr K S Krishnan Marg, New Delhi - 110012 by Ordinary Post only, before the prescribed date.

The INSPIRE Scholarship selection process, on average, takes at least four months from the last date of submission of the application. All selected candidates shall receive a Provisional Offer Letter on their web portal account informing them that they are selected for the scholarship. Provisionally selected students are required to log in to the online portal to download the offer letter. The list of selected and rejected students will also be displayed on the home page of the INSPIRE Web-Portal. Selected candidates will have to upload the required documents on their web-portal within the prescribed time limit (time limit mentioned in the offer letter) for further consideration by the Department.
