RRBs follow percentile-based normalisation in the RRB Group D exam. The percentile score of each candidate is converted into normalised marks by inserting the raw marks into the base shift. The calculation of base shift is done by using the standard mathematical formula of interpolation. The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination.

RRB Group D Maths comprises topics such as HCF and LCM, Ratio & Proportion, Mensuration Time & Distance, Profit & Loss, BODMAS, Percentages, Time & Work, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Age Calculations. The standard of questions is of Class 10 level. For Maths candidates can refer to the following books: Practice Book on Quicker Maths by M Tyra and K Kundan Fast Track Objective Arithmetic by Rajesh Verma Quantitative Aptitude by Arun Sharma.

The General Awareness section holds the maximum weightage in RRB Group D exam. Questions in this section are asked from Indian History, Sports, Current Affairs events, important days and events. The following books can refer to for RRB Group D General Awareness section: Lucent General Knowledge Manorama Year Book Pratiyogita Darpan To prepare the General Awareness section of RRB Group D exam, candidates must refer to the newspapers and General Awareness books. They should prepare the current affairs of past six months or one year.

Yes, there are qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam. The qualifying marks for your and EWS categories are 40 per cent and 30 per cent for SC, ST, and OBC.
