SBI Clerk 2025: Mains Result (Soon), Cut Off, Exam Date, Pattern, Syllabus & FAQs

The scorecard for SBI Clerk exam is released along with the result. To download the scorecard, candidates need to enter the required credentials. The hard copy of the scorecard is not sent to candidates by post. The scorecard comprises the section-wise marks, overall marks, cut off marks, etc. The scores of candidates are calculated after applying penalty for wrong answers. 1/4th of the mark assigned to a particular question is deducted for wrong answers. For correct answers, candidates score one mark. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. The mains exam carries a total of 200 marks. The marks obtained in the mains exam are considered for the final selection of candidates. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for the language proficiency test.

There is no facility to recheck SBI Clerk result. The result announced by the examination authority is considered as final. Candidates can download their results by logging with the required credentials. The hard copy of the result is not sent to candidates by post.

The qualifying marks are estimated based on the following factors:

There is no separate qualifying marks besides the category-wise cut off marks. Candidates need to secure the category-wise cut off marks in order to qualify the exam. There is no sectional cut off in SBI Clerk exam. The cut off is decided based on the total marks, number of vacancies, total test takers, etc.

Yes, SBI Clerk can apply for SBI PO exam. However, to apply for SBI Clerk exam, candidates need to take permission from the employer. They are also required to provide NOC of the employer. Upon selection, candidates need to resign from the Clerical cadre post and join afresh as PO. No increment will be considered that is your clerical service won't be counted. Candidates applying for the SBI PO post, need to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for the exam. To apply for SBI PO, candidates need to have graduation degree from a recognised university. The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 30 years. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they need to provide the required certificate related to the educational qualification. The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises and interview.

SBI Clerk exam is conducted annually by the State Bank of India. The exam is conducted for selection of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales). Selected candidates are posted to the various branches of SBI spread throughout the country. SBI Clerk salary is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates). Any graduate candidate who are between 20 and 28 years can apply for the exam. Relaxation in the age limit is provided to candidates belonging to different categories. SBI Clerk selection process comprises prelims and mains exams followed by language proficiency test. It is mandatory to clear the language proficiency test. SBI Clerk admit card is released separately for the prelims and mains exams one or two weeks before the exam. The admit card is released on the official website. However, the direct link to download the admit card is provided on this page. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. The steps to download SBI Clerk admit card are given below:

• Candidates need to go to the advertisement ‘Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales)’
• From the drop-down, click ‘SBI Clerk admit card’ link
• In the login page, candidates need to enter registration number or roll number, date of birth/password and captcha code
• SBI Clerk admit card appears on the screen
• Download the admit card and take its printout

Candidates are required to carry the printed copy of their admit cards to the exam centre. They need to carry photo-identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License,Voters Card, etc. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent by post.

There is a negative marking in the SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th mark assigned to a particular question is deducted as a penalty for wrong answers. For correct answers in the exam, candidates score one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. The marks of candidates are calculated as per marking scheme. Candidates should attempt maximum number of questions to secure the desired score in the exam.

SBI Clerk exam comprises prelims and Mains exams. Total marks allotted to test are 100. Total marks for the mains test are 200. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are also required to appear for LPT. Prelims marks are not counted for the final merit list.

The Reasoning Ability section tests the knowledge of candidates and their capability of solving the general ability problems with their intelligence. Questions are asked basically from Logical Reasoning and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The difficulty level of the prelims exam is usually easy. The English and Reasoning sections are easy, whereas, Maths section is easy to moderate. The Mains exam paper is usually moderate. The difficulty level of the English Language section is easy, Quant section is moderate, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude section is moderate and General/Financial Awareness section is moderate. The prelims exam of SBI Clerk carries questions from Reasoning, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The mains exam of SBI Clerk carries questions from General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for Language Proficiency Test.

SBI Clerk exam is little tougher than IBPS Clerk. The syllabus and pattern for both the exams are same. The level of questions asked in SBI Clerk exam is high.

SBI Clerk starting salary is INR 19,900. The4 revised payscale is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Candidates are also given various allowances. Recruitment is done based on the selection process.

Trained apprentices of SBI may be given weightage in the Main Examination by awarding 2.5% of the maximum marks (i.e. 5 marks out of 200 marks) as bonus marks. The bonus marks will be added to the aggregate score of the candidate to arrive at the final aggregate score. These bonus marks will be given only if an apprentice has completed the apprenticeship in SBI successfully on or before November 30, 2024 and conduct and performance is found to be satisfactory during the entire training period.

A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) is maintained. Candidates are released from this waitlist on quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation out of the current batch only,  subject to the candidates securing minimum qualifying marks as may be stipulated by the Bank for selection. This wait list is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. SBI Clerk application form was released on August 6, 2025. Application form was released online only. Last date to fill SBI Clerk application form was August 26. The eligibility for the exam is Graduation.

While raising any issue related to the SBI Clerk application process, candidates should provide details related to the registration number. They should also provide details related to the fee payment.

 

 

 

Candidates are advised to submit only one SBI Clerk application form. In case of multiple online forms, the latest one which is complete is accepted. Editing of application forms can be done within the prescribed deadline. The application fee can be paid online only. 

The sizes of the photograph and signature for SBI Clerk are given below.

The dimension of the photograph should be 200 x 230 pixels. The size of the file should be between 20 kb to 50 kb. 
The dimension of the signature should be between 140 x 60 pixels. The file size should be between 10 kb to 20 kb.

 

Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank  (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

No, SBI follows a similar SBI Clerk exam pattern for different states. SBI Clerk exam pattern is such that it comprises prelims exam, Mains exam and language proficiency test.
