Candidates cannot get SLAT question papers of previous years for free because the conduction body of SLAT, the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) authority, does not release previous years’ question papers of the exam. Candidates need to focus more on topics related to the SLAT syllabus to prepare for this law entrance exam. Q:   Is SLAT harder than CLAT?
A: 

The difficulty level of the SLAT and CLAT exams varies depending on the strengths and weaknesses of candidates who take these entrance exams. These strengths and weaknesses are related to their level of expertise in the subjects in which questions are asked in SLAT and CLAT.

Although a general overview of the sectional difficulty can help aspirants understand which of the two law entrance exams is more difficult. The level of questions in the English and legal sections also varies. The English section of CLAT is more difficult. The GK section of SLAT is easier than CLAT. If you compare the number of applicants per seat, then CLAT is definitely tougher than SLAT.

As per an analysis of previous exam-related trends, in CLAT. Approximately 17 candidates compete for just one seat. If the candidates compare the seats, then CLAT is a little harder than SLAT. If you compare the syllabus, then the SLAT syllabus is easier than the CLAT syllabus.

The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) Authority does not provide practise sets and mock tests for the SLAT. Thus, candidates can find these practise sets and mock tests in any book designed for SLAT preparation. These books should be published by reliable and renowned publications. Books designed for CLAT preparation can also help candidates with SLAT preparation.

All sections of the SLAT exam, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge, and General English are equally important because they all carry 12 questions and equal weightage. Thus, solving all sections of the SLAT question paper correctly will provide candidates with equal benefits. Moreover, they can attempt all the questions available in the exam question paper because there is no provision for negative marking in the SLAT exam. Here, candidates need to note that the total mark for the SLAT entrance test is 60, which is scaled down to 50. A total of 50 marks are added from the SLAT Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interaction (PI) to evaluate the SLAT results.

Q:   Can I crack SLAT by solving question papers of the previous years of the exam?

Yes, candidates can crack SLAT by solving previous years’ question papers of the exam because these question papers can help them get familiarised with the SLAT exam pattern and types of questions asked in the exam. But SLAT aspirants need to know that solving previous years’ question papers is not enough to score well in the exam. They need to learn the basic concepts about the topics on which questions are asked in SLAT. Doing so will allow them to solve any questions asked in the SLAT question paper, even if these questions were not asked in previous years’ question papers.

 

Q:   Can I skip a question in the SLAT question paper if I do not know its answer?
A: 

Yes, candidates can skip a question in the SLAT question paper if they do not know its answer. However, it is recommended that candidates answer all the questions available in the exam question paper because SLAT does not follow a negative marking scheme. Thus, if they answer a question incorrectly, no marks will be penalised. In case when candidates do not answer to a particular question, they should not waste their time solving or answering it because the time limit to solve a SLAT question paper is very short, which is equal to 60 minutes (1 hour). They can mark such questions for review and answer them later.

 

Q:   Will questions be available in Marathi in the SLAT question paper?

The questions in the question paper of the SLAT will not be available in Marathi because the Symbiosis Entrance Test Authority has designed the SLAT question papers to provide admission opportunities to BA LLB and BBA LLB courses for candidates all over India. Regional languages like Marathi are usually used for question papers in common entrance exams conducted by states. The law entrance exam in which questions are asked in English and Marathi is MH CET Law, which is conducted by the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell Maharashtra.

Q:   Will my marks get deducted if I answer a question incorrectly in the SLAT exam?
A: 

No, your marks will not be deducted if you answer a question incorrectly in the SLAT exam because SLAT does not have a negative marking scheme. Candidates also do not lose marks for questions they do not answer. For each correct answer, they receive one mark. The overall scores are evaluated on the basis of the correct options out of a total of 60 marks. However, the total 60 marks of the SLAT exam are scaled down to 50.

 

Q:   Which types of questions are asked in the SLAT question paper?
A: 

Multiple-choice questions are asked in the SLAT question papers. Candidates are required to answer these questions in a computer-based test mode (online). They will also be able to skip questions if they do not know their answers. Candidates receive 60 minutes or 1 hour to answer all 60 questions using the best of their knowledge. The amount of time candidates need to devote to solving SLAT completely depends on them. SLAT does not happen twice a year, but it takes place on two dates in the same session. Candidates have the option to appear in either or both. The best attempt from the two will be considered to prepare the merit list. SLAT 2026 exam will be held on:
