Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   When should I start preparing for SLAT?
A:

There is no maximum time limit to start preparation. Candidates can start preparing for the SLAT exam any time when they decide to sit for it. You can refer to previous year papers for the exam overview.

Q:   Is one month sufficient for solving SLAT practise sets?
A:

The number of SLAT practise sets depends on the number of practise sets an aspirant solves. If you want to solve fewer practise sets, then one month is enough to practise them. However, if you want to solve 30–40 practise sets of SLAT, then you need 2-3 months to do so. This much time will allow you to solve one practise set multiple times. As a result, you will learn about almost all the important concepts and topics from which questions are asked in the SLAT exam. Aspirants preparing for the SLAT also need to know the SLAT syllabus and practise topics related to it to score well in the entrance exam.

Q:   Can I fill out the SLAT application form offline?
A:

No, candidates cannot fill out the application form offline. The exam authority for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) releases the SLAT application form online only. SLAT is conducted for all candidates from different Indian states. It is difficult for the exam authority to make the exam form available to everyone at different physical centres. Thus, to allow all the exam aspirants to access the SLAT application form, the exam authority makes it available online on the official website of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), set-test.org. SLAT application or registration forms can also be accessed on the website of Symbiosis Law School Pune, Symbiosis Law School Nagpur, Symbiosis Law School Nagpur, and Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad.

Q:   Is there any relaxation to the SLAT application fee for candidates from reserved categories?
A:

The Symbiosis International University does not provide any relations to reserved category candidates on the SLAT application fee. Candidates belonging to all categories are required to pay the same amount as the SLAT fee. The SLAT Institute fee for candidates in all categories is also equal. In 2025, the SLAT application fee was INR 1950 for all applicants. However, the SLAT institute fee in the same year was INR 1000. The SLAT application fee and institute registration fee are subject to change as per a decision by the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) authority.

A:

A candidate desirous of submitting his candidate to select UG programmes is also required to complete the payment process for the desired programme before the losing date for payment of the same. Payment towards the programmes must be made through the website only (set-test.org). After making the payment for SLAT, proceed to complete the online registration form (Part II) for programme registration and the respective institute (s). Q:   Do I need to cover the entire syllabus for SLAT preparation?
