Commonly asked questions

Q:   Can I crack SLAT if I prepare for CLAT?

A:

Yes, you can crack SLAT if you prepare for CLAT. The CLAT and SLAT exams have a similar syllabus, with both exams testing candidates on their reading comprehension, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and general knowledge and current affairs skills.

However, there are some minor differences between the two exams. For example, the SLAT has a lower number of questions on quantitative aptitude than the CLAT. Additionally, the SLAT has a less challenging legal reasoning section than the CLAT.

If you are preparing for CLAT, you should be well-prepared for the SLAT. However, you should also be aware of the minor differences between the two exams and adjust your preparation accordingly. For example, you may want to spend less time preparing for quantitative aptitude and more time preparing for legal reasoning.

Here are some tips for cracking SLAT if you are preparing for CLAT:

  • Focus on understanding the key concepts in legal reasoning and logical reasoning.
  • Practice a variety of questions from both sections, including case studies, analytical reasoning questions, principle-fact based questions, syllogisms, critical reasoning questions, and logical puzzles.
  • Make sure that you are comfortable with the basic mathematical concepts tested in the quantitative aptitude section.
  • Stay updated on current events and important facts for the general knowledge and current affairs section.
  • Take mock tests and solve previous year question papers to get familiar with the exam format and identify your areas of weakness.

Q:   Is it worth dropping a year for SLAT?

A:

No, there is no need to drop a year to get admission to UG Law courses through SLAT. You can prepare for SLAT within 3-4 months. To prepare well for the Symbiosis Entrance Test for Law, you need to sincerely study at least 3-4 hrs. daily for 3-4 months before exam date. Thus, dropping a year will not help you to get admission to any of the Law Schools of the Symbiosis International University. You can also appear for other law entrance exams, such as the ULSAT (University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Law School Admission Test) or apply to an institute that accepts admission to UG law programmes based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam, if you feel like you are not prepared for the SLAT. It is one of the top educational institutions that provides quality law education based on the ULSAT and scores of other law exams, including CLAT and LSAT India.

Q:   How can I prepare for the Analytical Reasoning section of SLAT?

A:

Candidates must comprehend the types of questions that will be asked in the Logical Reasoning section before beginning their preparation. They must consult the SLAT question banks from prior years for this. By practising more, you'll learn tips and shortcuts that make answering problems fast and readily possible. Obtaining the proper set of books for the logical reasoning section is also crucial. There are several publications on the market, both online and offline, that provide practise materials, a detailed and descriptive understanding of the subjects, and a method for answering the questions.
