SLAT 2024 Analysis is now available. The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2024 was conducted on two days from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. SLAT Test 1 was conducted on May 5, 2024 and as per experts, the paper had questions of easy to moderate difficulty level. SLAT 2024 Test 2 was conducted on May 11, 2024. The second session of SLAT exam 2024 was easy. Read below SLAT 2024 analysis.

The analysis of SLAT includes the detail about the SLAT question paper patter, types of questions asked in the exam, and the exam difficulty level. Meanwhile, candidate can learn about SLAT based on previous years' analysis for the exam.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of SLAT?

A:

SLAT, which stands for Symbiosis Law Admission Test, is the entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to its undergraduate law programs, including BA LLB and BBA LLB. The difficulty level of SLAT can be categorized as moderate to moderately challenging.

Here are some key points to consider regarding the difficulty level of SLAT:

1. Subjective Perception: The difficulty of SLAT may vary from one candidate to another, depending on their individual strengths and weaknesses. Some candidates may find it relatively easier, while others may perceive it as moderately challenging.

2. Sections: SLAT typically consists of sections like Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each section may have varying levels of difficulty, with some being more challenging than others.

3. Competitive Nature: SLAT is a competitive entrance exam, and it is designed to assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies. Therefore, it includes questions that test logical and analytical reasoning, legal concepts, and reading comprehension.

4. Preparation Matters: The difficulty of SLAT can also depend on the level of preparation of the candidate. Those who have thoroughly prepared for the exam, including solving practice papers and taking mock tests, are likely to find it more manageable.

5. Time Management: Like many other entrance exams, SLAT places a premium on time management. Candidates need to answer a significant number of questions within a limited time frame, which can add to the perceived difficulty.

6. Previous Year Papers: To gauge the difficulty level more accurately, it's a good practice to review previous year's question papers and sample papers, which are often available on the official SLAT website.

In summary, while SLAT is not considered exceptionally difficult, it does require focused preparation, particularly in areas such as logical and legal reasoning. Candidates who have a strong grasp of these concepts and practice effectively are better equipped to perform well in the exam.

Q:   How many questions do I need to attempt to become a topper of the SLAT exam?

A:

To become a topper of the SLAT exam, a candidate needs to attempt all the questions asked in the exam question paper. There is no provision for negative marking in SLAT. Thus, attempting all the questions mentioned in the exam question paper can increase a candidate's chances of becoming a topper in the SLAT exam. Candidates who want to achieve the highest score in this law entrance exam need to note that their chances of becoming the exam topper depend on the number of questions they answer correctly. The candidate who answers the maximum number of questions in the SLAT exam becomes the exam topper. To answer all or most of the questions correctly, candidates need to study and prepare well for the exam. They need to refer to the right books and study materials and devote sufficient time to studying to become exam toppers.

Q:   What are the important topics from which questions are in the SLAT exam?

A:

The important topics for the SLAT are different for the different sections of the exam question papers. The important topics for the SLAT Analytical Reasoning section are related to finding relationships between people, situations, or objects and finding solutions to various problems related to them. Other important topics related to this section are reasoning concepts based on charts, graphs, grouping, data, sequencing, and selection. The important topics associated with the Logical Reasoning section of the SLAT India exam are concepts based on statements and assumptions or syllogisms, deductions, inferences, flaws and errors identification, clock, calendar, Venn diagram, blood relation cubes, seating arrangements, coding and decoding, and logical matching. The best topics to prepare for the Reading Comprehension section are based on knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, and idioms and phrases. Candidates can also read news articles to enhance their reading ability and comprehension of the English language and prepare for the SLAT Reading Comprehension section. In the General Knowledge section of the entrance exam, questions are asked from static GK topics and current affairs.

Q:   Are the question papers for both SLAT Test 1 and SLAT Test 2 different?

A:

Yes, the question paper of the SLAT exam for the test conducted on each day is different, even if two or more candidates take the exam in the same year. However, the pattern of the exam will be the same for each test conducted on that day. Candidates on both test days receive the same time limit of 60 minutes to answer all questions. These questions are asked in five sections, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Reading Comprehension. Candidates will not lose any marks for a wrong answer. Thus, all exam takers have the facility to select the answer to a question as per their knowledge without considering the penalty of a score reduction while solving the SLAT exam question paper.

SLAT 2023 Important Features

Since Shiksha covers SLAT exams from the test centres here are some key aspects to take note of:

  • The General Knowledge was the most difficult section of SLAT 2023. Questions from books and their authors' names were asked in the GK section of the SLAT 2023 exam. According to another candidate, Navya Khurrana, the questions in the GK section were static. Questions in this section were also related to the ancient and mediaeval history of India.
  • Questions in the GK section were also associated with the Ukraine-Russia War. Most of the exam takers considered GK the toughest section of the SLAT 2023 exam.
  • SLAT 2023 easier than CLAT.
  • The Logical Reasoning and Analytical Reasoning sections were very easy.
  • Reading Comprehension was the easiest section in SLAT 2023. Questions related to articles from newspapers like "The Hindu" and "Times of India" were asked in the Reading Comprehension section of SLAT 2023.
  • Like previous year, the questions of mathematics were also asked in the entrance examination. The level of difficulty of these questions was up to Class 10 Math questions.

Q:   What changes have been made to the SLAT exam pattern?

A:

The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) Authority has made a change in the weightage of SLAT entrance exam scores in recent years. As per the new pattern, there will be 60 questions for the SLAT question paper from five different sections: Logical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each question carries one mark. This means the total marks for SLAT should be 60. However, the entrance test authority scaled down the 60 marks of the SLAT exam to 50. Thus, as per the new exam pattern, the new weightage for the SLAT exam is 50. The rest of the 50 weightage scores for the exam are taken from the SLAT Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interaction (PI). The weightage of SLAT WAT is 20. However, the weightage of PI is 30.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section?

A:

The difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section is easy to moderate. If we look at the previous years’ question papers of the SLAT exam, it has been noticed that most questions in the section were asked to assess the understanding of candidates about the English language. These questions are based on articles from different newspapers. Candidates require knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary. Thus, to solve the Reading Comprehension section, they need to have excellent knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary.

Q:   Is it worth dropping a year for SLAT?

A:

No, there is no need to drop a year to get admission to UG Law courses through SLAT. You can prepare for SLAT within 3-4 months. To prepare well for the Symbiosis Entrance Test for Law, you need to sincerely study at least 3-4 hrs. daily for 3-4 months before exam date. Thus, dropping a year will not help you to get admission to any of the Law Schools of the Symbiosis International University. You can also appear for other law entrance exams, such as the ULSAT (University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Law School Admission Test) or apply to an institute that accepts admission to UG law programmes based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam, if you feel like you are not prepared for the SLAT. It is one of the top educational institutions that provides quality law education based on the ULSAT and scores of other law exams, including CLAT and LSAT India.
