IBSAT examines Verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation skills, and reading comprehension of a student. It is a national-level management entrance exam which offer admissions into MBA/PGDM courses in the top 9 business schools across India.

IBSAT exam 2026 is a national-level management entrance test conducted by the ICFAI to offer admissions into MBA/PGDM courses in IBS colleges. IBSAT examines students based on these sections; Verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation skills, and reading comprehension. 

Who should take IBSAT

IBSAT exam 2026; National-level management entrance test

IBSAT exam can be taken by students who want admission into a 2-year MBA and PGPM course program at one of the 9 IBS campuses. The program has a 90% placement rate in top business schools in India with 100% case-based teaching. The IBSAT exam will be conducted in December 2026, and the mock test dates for the exam have also been released by the official examination body. Eligibility criteria for the IBSAT exam

The ICFAI Business School has set certain eligibility criteria for the IBSAT exam 2026. It is mandatory to check all of these before applying for the examination. 

  • The candidate must be a legal resident of India. 

  • Any graduate candidate or those who will graduate in 2027 are eligible to apply.

  • 50% marks should be secured in the graduation degree. 

  • For PhD courses, the candidate must have a master's degree with 50% marks. 

  • There is no age limit for the IBSAT exam.

Note: Candidates with valid CAT, XAT, GMAT™, or NMAT by GMAC™ scores of 2024 onwards can apply to ICFAI Business School (IBS).

Exam pattern of the IBSAT exam

The exam pattern of the IBSAT exam/IBSAT syllabus is similar to all other national management entrance exams. The IBSAT exam has 140 MCQ questions in a time duration of 120 minutes. The exam is conducted in a remote proctored mode. Each question carries one mark with no negative marking and no sectional time limit.

  1. Use latest version of any of browsers.

Personal Interview (PI): 1. Introduce yourself in a very brief and formal way. 2. Limit introduction to entirely yourself.3. Give straight and simple answers to the questions asked by the interviewer. 4. Answer in small sentences. 5. To the point and precise answers are far better than beating around the bush. 6. Don't try be aggressive, overconfident. And definitely, DO NOT try to impress the panel by using some cheesy mugged up lines. It won't work. 7. Dress formally.

Micro Presentation: Candidates need to be prepared to speak for about 2-3 minutes on a given topic. The selection panel will evaluate the candidate on their communication skill, topic awareness, confidence and body language. So, to prepare for Micro Presentation follow current/business affairs, be socially aware and practice public speaking.

IBS Hyderabad has shared the dates for IBSAT National Mock Test on its official website. Candidates can register for any date as per their convenience. Apart from this, IBS also provides Free Mock Test that can be taken anytime after registration.

Only candidates who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria can register to appear for IBSAT mock test:

  • Candidate must be a resident of India with Aadhaar Card (Except for NE States, may provide Government ID)
