Assam NEET Counselling 2026: Seat Allotment (OUT), Stray Round Registration & Choice Filling

Assam NEET Stray Round counselling registration was active till October 17 at 11:59 PM. The registration link was active on the website, dme.assam.gov.in. Candidates who have qualified in the NEET UG exam could apply for counselling. The steps involved in Assam NEET UG counselling registration are registration, form filling, uploading a photograph & signature, and counselling fee payment. The Assam NEET counselling 2026 process is described below.

List of eligible candidates:

Based on the qualification status of NEET 2026 candidates, DME Guwahati will prepare a list of candidates eligible to participate in the Assam NEET 2026 counselling. This list will be uploaded on the DME website. Only those named in this list are eligible to participate in Assam NEET counselling.

Registration:

Candidates who wish to participate in Assam NEET 2026 counselling must register online on the DME, Assam website. The registration process is conducted online. A candidate must pay a non-refundable fee of INR 1,000 (irrespective of the category) to complete the registration process.

State Merit List:

DME Assam released the merit list for Assam MBBS and BDS admissions online. This merit list is prepared based on the marks/ranks obtained in NEET 2026. The state will also prepare a separate merit list from an overall merit list for each category. Seats reserved for a particular category of candidates were filled based on the respective merit list.

Choice Filling:

Candidates whose names are mentioned in the Assam NEET UG merit list can exercise the choice filling process. Candidates have to provide their preferences for college and course during the choice filling process. They can choose as many colleges and courses as per their choice and preference.

Candidates have to follow the steps given below to fill and submit choices for Assam NEET 2026 counselling. 

• Visit the official website of Assam NEET Counselling – dme.assam.gov.in
• Click on the link indicating NEET UG 2026 choice filling 
• Enter the application number, password, date of birth
• Click on Log in
• Click the arrow on the box for the Institution of preference when a dropdown menu appears with the names of participating Institutions. Click on the Institution of your choice.
• Candidates must fill in at least one preference before locking. Any Form Locked without filling in any preference will be considered as a candidate not participating in the Counselling process.
• The Online Choice Filling Form will not be accessible anymore once the candidate clicks the `Lock Preferences` button and confirms it. So, candidates are advised to check the Form carefully before clicking the `Lock Preferences` button and confirming it.

Seat Allotment Result:

Based on candidates' seat preferences and the choices entered by them, DME Assam released the Assam NEET counselling 2026 seat allotment result. Participating candidates have to either accept the seats by visiting the institutes for the document verification process. On the other hand, other candidates can choose for seat upgradation and participate in the next round of the counselling process.

Schedule for Assam NEET 2026 Counselling:

DME Assam releases the schedule for the Assam NEET counselling 2026 for each round. The counselling is conducted on different dates for different candidate categories. The seats that will be left vacant after the first round of counselling will be filled in the second and subsequent rounds.

Reporting to the Office of DME:

To attend the counselling of Assam NEET 2026, a candidate will have to report to the office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Six Miles, Khanapara, Guwahati-22. They have to carry the documents listed below, both original and a self-attested copy, to the counselling venue.

• Registration form for the Assam NEET counselling.
• NEET 2026 admit card.
• NEET 2026 scorecard.
• Class 12 mark sheet.
• Admit card for Class 12 board examination or equivalent.
• Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• Permanent Residence Certificate.
• Caste Certificate (if applicable).
• Disability Certificate (if applicable).
