GPAT 2025 or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2025 is scheduled to take place on May 25, 2025. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has all the rights reserved to organize and manage the GPAT 2025 exam and has set several exam day guidelines as well to address the candidates in order to avoid any confusion. Earlier, authorities released the GPAT admit card 2025 on May 21, 2025, in online mode.

NBEMS has issued a specific guideline regarding the exam that mentions the things which a candidate can carry inside the exam centre or not. Before moving to the GPAT 2025 exam day guidelines in detail, it is important to understand the GPAT 2025 exam pattern. The exam pattern is also set by the NBEMS, which includes vital information such as the duration of the exam type of questions and the marking scheme.

GPAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set several rules and regulations which are required to be followed by the candidates on the exam day. NBEMS has specified in detail about everything, like what things candidates can bring and what’s prohibited in the exam hall, what stationery and documents the candidates are allowed to bring on the exam day and several other important instructions.

Q:   When will GPAT exam date be announced?
A:

The GPAT exam dates were announced by the exam conducting body, NBEMS. The GPAT 2025 exam will be conducted on May 25, 2025. 

The authorities released the official notification on March 27, 2025. While the registration started on April 1, 2025, for 20 days along with the release of the application form. Candidates can check and download the GPAT-NBEMS the latest notification from the official website.

Q:   Can I bring a calculator to the GPAT exam centre?
A:
No, candidates are not allowed to carry a calculator or any other electronic gadget to the GPAT exam centre. There is a complete list of things to do and avoid at the GPAT exam centre which candidates are advised to read carefully. Things prohibited at the GPAT test center includes: Any paper having textual material on it such as log tables or any written/printed content, Smartwatches, Mobile Phones or any other electronic devices, slide rules etc. Other rules will be mentioned on the GPAT admit card.

The GPAT exam dates were announced by the exam-conducting authority National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on the official notification. It was released on the website at natboard(dot)edu(dot)in. 

This year the GPAT 2025 exam was conducted on May 25, 2025. The GPAT exam was conducted in the afternoon shift from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Other tips and instructions candidates are required to follow:

  • Candidates are advised to get familiar with the exact location of the exam centre by visiting the same a day before the exam or by leaving early on the exam day.
  • Candidates should try to reach the exam venue at the reporting time mentioned in the GPAT 2025 Admit Card. Candidates failing to reach the exam centre on time will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. NBEMS has also asked the officials to conduct a pre-examination check before the commencement of the examination hence, the candidates should try to reach the centre before time.
  • If you report beyond the gate closing time of centre, you will not be allowed to enter the Test venue. Instructions have been issued for strict compliance. Several pre-examination formalities need to be completed, and therefore, please arrive on time.
  • Candidates should carry the following belongings they are required to bring at the centre on the day of exam:
    • GPAT 2025 Admit Card downloaded from the official NBEMS website (a clear visible colour printout on an A4 size sheet).
    • One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.
    • A valid photo ID proof in original (PAN card/ driving license/ voter ID/passport/ aadhaar card (With photograph)/E- aadhaar/ration card/ bank passbook with Photograph).
    • ID cards issued by Schools/ colleges/ universities/ coaching centres, Aadhar enrollment receipt without Aadhar number and photocopies or Images stored in mobile phones etc will NOT be accepted (Note: No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre, without identity verification).
    • Person with disability (PwD) certificate issued by the competent authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category. PwD candidates are required to report early at the centre so that arrangements can be made on time.

Things Prohibited at the Exam Centre:

  • Any instrument/geometry/pencil box
  • Handbag
  • Purse
  • Any kind of paper/stationery/textual material (printed or written material)
  • Eatables and water (loose or packed)
  • Mobile phone/earphone/microphone/pager
  • Smartwatch/calculator/ docu-pen/ slide rule/log tables/camera/tape recorder
  • Any metallic item or electronic gadget

Note: There will be no provision at the centre to keep the candidate’s valuables.

Candidates will receive pen/pencil and blank sheets for rough work at the exam hall. The candidates are required to submit the rough sheets after finishing the exam to the invigilator with their name and roll number at the top along with the admit card.

Candidates are required to provide all the required details in the attendance sheet in clear writing, provide their left-hand thumb impression along with their signature and paste the passport size photograph on the space provided. Candidate should ensure that their left-hand thumb impression is smudge-free.

Q:   What is the reporting time of the GPAT test centre?
A:
The reporting time of the GPAT test center varies on year-on-year basis. As the exam will be conducted in two shifts, first one in the morning session from 9 am to 12 noon and the second from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, therefore, the reporting time will be mentioned on the GPAT admit card. It is mandatory for the candidates to be present at the test centre at the reporting time mentioned on their admit card.
Q:   What are exam day guidelines of GPAT?
A:

Applicants are advised to check the guidelines of the GPAT exam before appearing in the exam. Students are required to reach the exam centre on time; don't carry any electronic gadgets in the examination hall. Along with it they also need to carry the admit card as well as ID proof to the exam centre. 

Q:   By when a candidate need to reach the GPAT exam centre?
A:

Students who are planning to appear in the GPAT exam must note that normally the GATE opens around 2 hours before the entry to the examination hall. However one must reach to the GPAT 2025 exam centre atleast half n hour (30 minutes) before so that one can get settle and prepare before appearin in the exam. 

Candidates are advised to follow all the instructed practices during the examination and should not indulge in any kind of unfair practices. Any candidate found doing such activities his/her exam cancelled without any notice.

No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination practices. The candidature of candidates in case of impersonation will be automatically cancelled without any notice.

In continuation of the above instructions, the candidates are advised to carefully listen to the verbal instructions given by the invigilator before the commencement of the exam. Hence, candidates should reach the exam centre earlier to have a fair and hassle free examination.

Yes, students can get scholarship based on their GPAT score under Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies offered by PCI. The scholarship is offered to MPharm student who have qualified GPAT. A scholarship of INR 12,400 per month is offered to selected students for 24 months.
