BITSAT 2026 Exam: Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) has announced BITSAT 2026 dates. BITSAT 2026 exam date for session 1 is April 15 to 17, and the session 2 exam will be held from May 24 to 26.

BITSAT 2026 session 1 registration will start on December 15 at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in, and will be open till March 16. On the other hand, the online BITSAT application form forthe  session will be out on April 20 and will be available till May 2.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted by BITS Pilani to select students for BE admissions. To prepare for BITSAT, the candidates have to check the official exam pattern and syllabus. For BITSAT preparation, the topics from Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics/Biology have to be studied. In BITSAT, three marks will be awarded for correct answer and one mark will be cut for incorrect ones. BITSAT 2026 Application Form Session 1 (Dec 15)

The BITSAT 2026 registration link will be available at bitsadmission.com. The authority is expected to release the session 1 application form in the second week of January 2026. Eligible candidates must submit the completed forms before the last date. Candidates have to complete registration, form-filling, select the preferred centres, upload the documents and pay the fee. Candidates can apply for both sessions separately. The form correction facility will be available once the registration period ends

How to fill BITSAT application form 2026?

  • Go to bitsadmission.com and click on the registration link. Provide your email address and mobile number.
  • Next, fill in your details in the application form. All of the submitted information has to be correct. Select the exam cities.
  • Students will have to upload their photograph and signature in the application form. The documents have to be as per the instructions.
  • BITSAT application fee has to be paid via net banking, credit card or debit card.
  • Finally, submit the form after carefully checking the details before submission.

Who is Eligible for BITSAT 2026?

The BITSAT 2026 eligibility criteria will be available soon. Candidates have to check the eligibility criteria before filling the form.

  • Students should have passed the 12th class qualifying exam from a recognised board.
  • Should have scored an aggregate of 75% mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • At least 60% mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics each.
  • English is a compulsory language.

What is BITSAT?

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, conducts the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) for admission to the undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions are offered annually to candidates into the BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The entrance exam is conducted in online mode, and around 3 lakh students apply for it every year. However, the authorities also accept direct admissions for board toppers who meet the required eligibility criteria.

Previous Year's BITSAT Analysis

In the previous year, BITSAT was overall moderate to tough. There were more NCERT and mixed concept questions. Out of all subjects, the students found Mathematics as the toughest because of its lengthy questions. Physics was moderate to difficult, with more 12th standard questions. Students found Chemistry easy to moderate, and there were more questions from Organic Chemistry.

New Courses Introduced Last Year

BITS Pilani has introduced two new programmes for students applying to the BITS campuses. 

  • BE in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering
  • MSc in Semiconductor and Nanoscience

BITSAT Direct Admissions

Students who are board toppers are offered direct admissions into the BITS campuses. Registrations for the direct admission process will be open tentatively in June 2026. Only those students who have secured the highest aggregate marks in 12th qualifying exam among others who have taken PCM in the academic year will be eligible for direct admissions. If more than four students have been announced as board toppers, then BITS Pilani offers direct admission to a maximum of four candidates.

Are both BITSAT exam sessions open for the students?

Students are eligible to attempt one or both sessions of the BITSAT exam. In January 2026, the authorities will open the registration process for one or both sessions. However, a separate applicatoin form for only the second session will also be available tentatively in May 2026. Students have the choice to apply for one or both sessions. If both sessions are attempted, then the best score will be considered for admission.

How to attempt additional 12 questions in BITSAT?

Students will be given an opportunity to attempt additional 12 questions in BITSAT paper. However, there are some requirements that they need to meet for additional questions.

  • Students have to attempt all 130 questions in BITSAT paper before end of exam.
  • Additional questions will be available only if students still have time left after completing exam.
  • Once they start answering additional questions, they cannot go back to their previous answers and edit it.
  • Three questions from each section will be prepared for additional questions.

BITSAT 2026 hall ticket will be released online at bitsadmission.com. Students will have to use their application form number and password to access the admit card. Through the admit card, the students can check important information such as the examination date, timings, centre address, guidelines and more. At the exam centre, the students will have to bring their BITSAT admit card and any one original ID proof (Aadhaar card/PAN Card/Voter ID/Passport/Driver's License/School ID). If they are not able to bring the required documents to the exam centre, then they will not be allowed to attempt the exam. Separate hall tickets will be released for the different exam sessions.

BITSAT Counselling 2026

BITSAT 2026 counselling process will be held online for all qualified candidates. The official dates will be announced soon. During the BITSAT counselling process, the candidates will have to submit their 12th standard qualifying exam marks and fill out their preferred choice of courses and campuses. The selection of choices has to be done in order of preference. The BITSAT 2026 counselling fee of INR 1000 has to be paid online. BITSAT 2026 seat allotment will be announced in the form of iterations.

Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences, category and seat availability. For every round of counselling, the BITSAT 2026 admit and waitlist will be announced. Direct admissions will be available for those students who have obtained the first rank in their respective State/Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2026 score.

BITS Pilani will prepare the BITSAT 2026 cutoff to select students for admission. The minimum scores needed to have a higher chance of admission will be released through the BITSAT cutoff. BITS RMIT 2026 Admission Process

BITS Pilani and RMIT University, Melbourne, are offering eligible candidates an opportunity to obtain dual undergraduate degrees from both Universities. Through the BITS RMIT programme, candidates with a valid BITSAT score can apply and gain the opportunity to enrol concurrently into both BITS Pilani and RMIT. The students will study mainly BITS subjects, but will also gain exposure to RMIT subjects. Students will study the first half of their degree at BITS Pilani and the second half at RMIT University, Melbourne. However, in the first two years of study, the students will be flown to Melbourne for a two-week introductory course.

For admissions into BITS Pilani and RMIT University, the candidates will have to attempt BITSAT 2026 and secure a good score. Those candidates who have applied for the programme and achieved the preferred cutoff will be contacted by the University to complete the admission process.

Yes, the authorities release the BITSAT cutoff online every year. The cutoff score for admissions in the preferred course and campus will be available for the candidates through the BITSAT cutoff. However, the students who meet the cutoff will not be guaranteed admission but will have higher chances.

Yes, the BITSAT cutoff will be different for every campus, course and category. The students may find that the cutoff score for popular courses and campuses high as compare to others. Similarly, reserved categories may have lesser cutoff than General category candidates.

Q:   What is the academic eligibility criteria for BITSAT?
A: 

BITSAT eligibility criteria is released online. Students should have passed 12th class qualifying examination from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. They should have atleast 75 percent marks in PCM and 60 percent in individual subjects.

Q:   How is BITSAT merit list prepared?
A: 

BITSAT merit list will be prepared after checking performance of students in exam. Merit list will be released as admit and wait list. Students in admit list will be eligible for admission, while those in wait list will be called in for next round of allotment.

Q:   Can I correct my details in the BITSAT application form?
A: 

Yes, the students will be able to correct/edit their submitted details through the online BITSAT application correction facility. However, all information will be open for corrections. Students should login and make the corrections within the allotted timeline. For every exam session, a separate correction facility will be open.

Q:   How can I choose my preferred BITSAT exam centre?
A: 

Students can choose preferred BITSAT exam centre while filling application form. Preferred exam cities have to be selected in order of preference. Based on preferences, exam centres will be given to students.

Q:   Where will the BITSAT 2026 dates be announced?
A: 

BITSAT 2026 dates will be released soon at bitsadmission.com. Students should be updated with important dates of BITSAT so they do not miss any exam or admission event. BITSAT 2026 application is expected to start in January 2026.

Q:   What is the BITSAT 2026 seat allotment dates?
A: 

BITSAT 2026 seat allotment dates will be released at official website. Students can check their allotment status in form of iterations. To check allotment, students will have to log in with the required details.

Q:   Will the BITSAT 2026 toppers list be announced?
A: 

No. The BITS Pilani authorities do not announce the list of BITSAT toppers. However, if the list of toppers is released, the students will be able to access it here. Students will be scored as per their performance in the exam. If both exam sessions are attempted, then the best score will be considered for admission.

Q:   What is the final date to submit the BITSAT 2026 application form?
A: 

BITSAT 2026 application form last date has not been announced yet. The last date to submit the application form will be different for the two examination sessions. The students will have to complete their application process before the final date, otherwise it will not be accepted.

Q:   What is the mode of payment for BITSAT application fee?
A: 

BITSAT application fee has to be paid to be registered for entrance exam. Fee has to be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking/ICICI payment gateway. Offline payments will not be accepted.

Q:   Can I fill out the BITSAT application form offline?
A: 

No. BITS Pilani will not release the application form offline. Students will have to fill out the form online at the official website. All of the required details have to be submitted online and the fee has to be paid. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Q:   I forgot to book my BITSAT slot. Will I get my admit card?
A: 

If students forget to book their BITSAT exam slot, then authorities will automatically allot them from available slots. Once slots are allotted, candidates cannot request authorities to change it. Candidates are advised to complete slot booking themselves.

Q:   What is the BITSAT test centre allotment?
A: 

BITS Pilani will announce the BITSAT test centre allotment to let the students know their allotted test centres. After checking their allotted test centre, the students will be able to choose the preferred exam slot from the available ones at their centre. The exam slots have to be booked through the BITSAT slot booking facility.

Q:   Is the counselling process centralized for all BITS campuses?
A: 

Yes. There will be no separate counselling process for the different BITS campuses. Students will have to participate in the centralized counselling for admissions into their preferred campuses. The list of preferences have to be submitted during counselling for allotment.

Q:   Are other exam scores accepted for BITSAT?
A: 

No other exam scores will be accepted for BITSAT admissions. Students will be considered for admission based on their BITSAT exam scores. However, board toppers will be eligible for direct admission. A separate application process will be open for the board topper direct admission scheme.

Q:   How can I attempt the BITSAT additional questions?
A: 

BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.

Q:   What is the division of questions in BITSAT pattern?
A: 

The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.

Q:   Which documents have to presented at the BITSAT exam centre?
A: 

At the exam centre, the students will have to bring their BITSAT admit card along with one valid identity proof for verification. No soft copies will be accepted so the students will have to bring print outs. If these documents are not shown at the centre, the students will not be allowed to enter the centre to attempt the exam.

Q:   What are the BITSAT exam slot timings?
A: 

BITSAT is held in just one day and will be conducted in various slots. There will be two examination slots for each day of the examination. The morning exam slot is 9 AM to 12 Noon and the afternoon exam slot is 2 PM to 5 PM. Students can choose their preferred slot online.

Q:   What are the areas that the students should focus on in BITSAT English proficiency section?
A: 

BITSAT English section has to be attempted in the exam. Students should focus on Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension and Composition to prepare for the BITSAT English section. These topics will help them work on their basic knowledge and will be helpful in the examination.
