Autodesk Partners with Anna University to Boost Student Skills in Design and Manufacturing

Autodesk and Anna University have signed a MoU to empower students by enhancing their skills and knowledge in the Design and Make industries.

Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Anna University, Chennai, to boost student employability in the design and make industries. The collaboration will offer industry-relevant courses focused on applied learning and specialisations in areas such as digital manufacturing and generative design. As part of this initiative, a state-of-the-art Design and Innovation Centre will be established at the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), providing students with access to Autodesk’s cutting-edge cloud-based platforms.

The centre will offer students immersive, hands-on learning experiences in digital manufacturing, CNC machining, and Building Information Modeling (BIM), equipping them for emerging roles in the dynamic design and engineering sectors. The partnership also encompasses faculty development programs, design competitions, and opportunities for Anna University leadership to participate in Autodesk’s global forums, including Autodesk University. As part of the initiative, faculty members will be trained as master trainers, enabling them to lead digital manufacturing courses across the university’s constituent and affiliated colleges.

The MoU lays out a strategic roadmap for integrating Autodesk’s advanced design and make platforms into academic curricula, promoting research-oriented learning and equipping students with practical experience to tackle real-world challenges. By enhancing curriculum, offering hands-on training for both students and faculty, and introducing immersive learning initiatives, the collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academic instruction and industry demands. This partnership underscores Autodesk’s commitment to expanding access to industry-relevant education across India’s higher education landscape.
