BITS Pilani Partners with University of Manchester to Power Future of STEM Education
BITS Pilani has partnered with the University of Manchester to transform and advance next-generation STEM education through collaborative innovation and academic exchange.
BITS Pilani has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Manchester to foster collaborative academic and research initiatives. The MoU was formalised at BITS Pilani’s Hyderabad campus during a visit by a delegation from the University of Manchester, led by Professor Stephen Flint. The partnership focuses on the joint development of high-quality academic degree programs, collaborative research projects, and the exchange of students and faculty.
It also opens avenues for industry collaboration, joint teaching, online education, and co-supervision of doctoral research. Additionally, the agreement enables the offering of dual or joint degree programs, in compliance with Indian regulatory bodies such as the UGC and AICTE. Aligned with BITS Pilani’s global outlook and the goals of NEP 2020, the partnership sets the stage for internationally competitive academic and research experiences for students worldwide.
The MoU establishes a platform for reciprocal academic exchange, collaborative research, and enhanced global exposure for students. BITS Pilani and the University of Manchester, in partnership with the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, will also collaborate to secure international research funding and jointly organize seminars, lectures, and workshops.
Speaking on the announcement, Professor Stephen Flint, Associate Vice President International, University of Manchester, said, "The University of Manchester is delighted to enter into this agreement with India’s premier private institution to co-create a portfolio of high-quality programmes across science and engineering," said Professor Stephen Flint. "This important new development underscores our long-term commitment to partnering with top institutions in India."
