Education is an Impactful Transformative Mechanism that Brings Equality, Says Vice President at SMVDU Convocation

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University's 10th convocation was also attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Education Minister Sakeena Firdous.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attended Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) 10th convocation. Along with Vice President Dhankhar, the SMVDU convocation was also attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Education Minister Sakeena Firdous.
During his address, the Vice President emphasised that national interest is bigger than any political or individual interest. He said that a great son of the soil once voiced the demand for ‘Ek Desh Mein Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan’ and that dream has been accomplished after the abrogation of Article 370 which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Change is Clearly Evident
He further emphasized that the change is not subtle; it is clearly evident. Perception has shifted, ground realities are evolving, and the hopes of the people are rising. He proudly shared that private investment proposals worth Rs 60,000 crores have been received over the past two years, signalling significant economic interest in Jammu and Kashmir. For the first time since 2019, foreign direct investment has entered the region, with numerous international companies expressing interest. The area is no longer defined by conflict; it now stands as a convergence of confidence and capital. The opportunity landscape in Jammu and Kashmir is expanding and flourishing.
The Vice President acknowledged that time is always a constraint and offered a few suggestions to the graduates. First, he encouraged them to follow their aptitude, urging them not to stress or carry unnecessary tension. He highlighted that for the first time, they are part of an ecosystem where they can fully harness their talent, and their potential for success is unstoppable—just like the rise of Bharat itself.
Secondly, he reminded them to embrace the words of Swami Vivekananda: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is achieved." He emphasized the significance of these words, encouraging them to reflect on Vivekananda’s life, his journey from India at a young age, and the global impact he made in an era when travel was much more difficult.
