SSC GD 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: The Commission is schedule to conduct the SSC GD 2026 exam from April 27 to May 30 at various centres across the country in four shifts on each day. The exam will be held in four phases. Candidates appearing in the exam need to follow the exam day instructions or guidelines as notified by the authority. It is mandatory for a candidate to carry SSC GD admit card 2026 with the valid photo ID proof to secure entry to the examination centre. Candidates need to reach the examination centre as per their reporting time mentioned on their hall ticket. The SSC GD 2026 shift timings will be mentioned in the official admit card. SSC GD 2026: Shift Timings
The SSC GD 2026 exam will be conducted into four shifts. Check below the SSC GD shift timings as per the previous year trends.

SSC GD 2026: Important Documents to Carry
Candidates can check below some of the important documents that need to be carried to the allotted test centre:
- SSC GD admit card: It is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre. Without the hall ticket, candidate will not be able to sit in the exam.
- Proof for the age of candidate
- Proof of identity of the candidate
- Pen and Water Bottle will be allowed at the SSC GD exam centre
- Photographs: Apart from the above, candidates must also carry at least two copies of their latest coloured photographsas per the dimension mentioned.

Along with the SSC GD hall ticket, it is also mandatory for candidates to carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the exam centre. Documents that can be carried as an ID proof are mentioned below:

SSC GD 2026: Things Prohibited or Not to Carry
Some of the list of items that are prohibited inside the SSC GD exam centre are mentioned below:
- Watches
- Books
- Pens
- Paper Chits
- Magazines
- Mobile Phones
- Pen/buttonhole cameras
- Bluetooth Devices
- Head phones
- Scanner
- Calculator
- Storage Devices
- Any other electronic item, etc.
It may be noted that in case any candidate is found with any of the item listed above in the exam hall, his/her candidature is likely to be cancelled and legal/criminal proceedings could be initiated against him/her. Also, such a candidate can be debarred from appearing in any of the future exams conducted by SSC.

SSC GD 2026: Exam Day Guidelines or Exam Day Instructions
Candidates can check below some of the points or exam day instructions that need to be followed by the candidate on the day of a SSC GD 2026 exam.
- Candidate should carry their admit card which is mandatory as it contains exam date, shift timing and exam centre details.
- In case, there is a mismatch in the date of birth mentioned on the admit card and that given on the photo ID proof, the candidate will not be allowed to give the paper.
- Candidates are advised not to bring the prohibited items to the test centre. In case they bring any such item, it would be their responsibility to take care of their belongings. SSC will not be responsible for the safe custody of any such item.
- Candidates should not indulge in any unfair means and should avoid talking to other candidates.
- In case, a candidate fails to carry any of the aforementioned documents to the test centre, s/he might not be allowed to give the paper and his/her candidature could be cancelled.
- Candidates should ensure that they meet the SSC GD eligibility criteria as laid down by the commission. If at any stage it is found that a candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
- Candidates should reach their allotted exam centre only as per the time mentioned on their admit card.
- Candidates should ensure that their biometric registration is completed before they enter the exam hall. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the test centre once their biometric registration is complete.
- Candidates should strictly follow the instructions given to candidates by centre supervisor, invigilator, etc.
- No candidate will be allowed to leave the exam hall before the paper ends. If a candidate leaves the exam hall without the permission of the invigilator, s/he will not be allowed to re-enter the exam hall.
- Candidates are advised to visit the exam centre at least one day in advance so that they reach the centre on time on the day of the paper.
- Rough sheets provided at the exam centre to the candidates must be submitted to the invigilator after the exam.
- Any kind of study materials are not permitted inside the examination centre.

The SSC GD exam 2026 was postponed. The Staff Selection Commission released a public notice at ssc.gov.in regarding this. Now, the Commission released the new SSC GD 2026 exam dates. It will start from April 27 and will end on May 30.
