SSC Recruitment 2025: The Staff Selection Commission is carrying out various recruitment drives as of now, including the SSC GD Constable 2025, SSC CGL 2025 and SSC MTS 2025. The SSC GD 2025 exam was held from February 4 to 25, 2025. The SSC CGL 2025 notification will be released soon.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a centralised recruitment agency that recruits candidates for the Group B and Group C posts in the Central Government departments and organisations. The SSC recruitment begins with the release of an official notification and ends with the recommendation letter sent to the concerned departments for the recruitment of shortlisted candidates who have cleared the entire selection process. The SSC recruitment process 2025 is different for every exam.

SSC GD Constable exam is a national level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC GD exam is a popular exam among candidates because of its eligibility criteria, salary and the pride associated with working in the security forces. Q:   How SSC CGL exam is conducted?

Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CGL exam in online mode at the designated exam centres only.  The Staff Selection Commission conduct the SSC CGL exam to recruit the candidates for the following groups of posts:

  • Group B Gazetted
  • Group B Non-Gazetted
  • Group C

Earlier, there were 4 tiers in the SSC CGL exam but the Commission 2022 changed the exam pattern and removed Tier 3 and Tier 4 from the exam process. Now, the SSC CGL Tier 2 result is considered the final result.

SSC CHSL stands for Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level. The SSC CHSL exam is conducted every year to recruit candidates for the following posts in the Government departments, offices and ministries:

Every year, the Commission shortlists thousands of candidates for recruitment in different ministries/ departments/ organisations of the Government of India. The commission recruits candidates through the various SSC exams conducted by it such as:

The basic SSC selection process includes the release of notification, conduct of the Computer-Based Exam (CBE), Typing Test/ Skill Test/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Medical Standard Test/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and document verification. The SSC recruitment process sometimes engages the other specialised and designated authority to conduct some stages of the exam. For instance, the SSC GD PST/ PET exam is conducted by the CRPF.

CPO is a Central Police Organization. The exam is held by the Staff Services Commission. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in 1975, it is  mandated to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts that come under various ministries in the Government of India. SSC CPO is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The full form of SSC CPO is Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. The recruitment is done for the post of Sub Inspector and Assistant Sub Inspector. 

Q:   When is the next date to apply for the SSC GD Constable?
A: 

The SSC GD apply online 2026 link will be activated by the Commission in October 2025, along with the release of official notification. The Commission will release the official notification and application form for the SSC GD 2026 session on its official website. Candidates are required to fill out the SSC GD Constable application form 2026 in order to appear for the exam. The SSC GD last date 2026 to fill out the online form will be of November 2025.

The Commission released the SSC CGL dates on its official exam calendar on its official website. The Commission will provide around 30 days to fill out the SSC CGL online application form for the 2025 session. The SSC CGL 2025 exam will be conducted in August 2025.

The syllabus for the SSC GD Constable exam includes four main sections:

  1. General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section assesses logical thinking and analytical abilities. Topics include analogy, blood relations, sitting arrangements, syllogism, and series.

  2. General Knowledge and General Awareness: This section tests knowledge of current affairs, history, politics, geography, and economics. A significant portion focuses on general awareness and current events, with a mix of questions from Indian polity, history, and geography.

  3. Elementary Mathematics: This section covers basic mathematical topics such as number systems, percentages, profit and loss, time and work, time and distance, and algebra.

  4. English/Hindi: Candidates can opt for English or Hindi. This section includes questions on grammar, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, cloze test, and sentence correction.

The exam consists of 80 questions in total, with each section containing 20 questions worth 40 marks, making the total exam score 160 marks. The exam duration is 1 hour.

Sub Inspector in Border Security Force (BSF)

The grade pay of SI in BSF is INR 4200. In-hand salary ranges between INR 35400 to INR 112400.

Sub Inspector in Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB)

The job profile of SSB is border guarding and armed defense to Intelligence Bureau and other topmost authorities in India. Grade pay is INR 4200. Inhand salary ranges from INR 35400 to INR 112400. The promotion opportunities are similar to that of BSF.

Sub Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

The job profile of CISF personnel contains guarding our PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings). The grade pay of CISF personnel ranges between INR 2400 to INR 4200. On Adding all other bonuses and allowances the in-hand salary ranges between INR 20,200 to INR 34,800 regarding the rankings.

Sub Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)

They are determined to maintain law and order in the country. The grade pay is INR 4200 and after adding all other allowances, the in-hand salary ranges between INR 20,200 to INR 80,000.

Sub Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)

Their duty contains maintaining security along with India- the Tibet border and stopping illegal immigration from Tibet. The grade pay is INR 2000 and after adding all other allowances, the in-hand salary ranges between INR 6,460 to INR 80,000.

Assistant Sub Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

Grade Pay of INR 2800. With all other allowances and perks, the in-hand salary would be INR 5200 to INR 20,200
