RBI Grade B Last Minute Preparation Tips 2024

To get recruited as the RBI Grade B officer the applicants need to undergo several stages of the selection process. The perfect and balanced strategy is the major ingredient to cracking the exam. It is highly essential for the candidates to prepare well and move in the right direction to formulate an effective strategy and study plan that will drive the candidates towards success.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern 2024

RBI Grade B 2024 Phase-I exam pattern for Grade B Officer DR-Gen comprises questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The duration of the test is 120 minutes, each section having separate timings. The total marks allotted to the test are 200.

Paper-I exam for DEPR comprises questions from Economics. The test paper will have three sections with a total of 62 questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The question paper for DSIM post carries questions from Statistics. There will be a total of 20 questions. The maximum marks allotted to the test are 100.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam comprises three papers-Paper-1 Economic & Social Issues, Paper 2: English-Writing Skills and Paper-3 Finance and Management.  Paper I and III comprise both objective and descriptive type questions, while Paper II is completely a descriptive test. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. Candidates need to type the descriptive type answers with the help of the keyboard. The total marks of the test are 300, each section is for 100 marks. The objective paper of Paper I and III of Phase II will have a total of 30 questions. Some questions will carry two marks, while some carry one mark. The Descriptive paper of Paper I and III will have six questions, out of which candidates need to attempt four questions. Two questions will be of 15 marks, while two will be of 10 marks. The structure of the mains exam is given below.

With just few days left for RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam, have a look at the last-minute preparation tips. You should devote this time to revision and practice. These last-minute preparation tips will boost your confidence and keep you motivated.

General Awareness: Questions in this section are generally asked from the current and banking awareness. Go through all the reforms and schemes introduced by the RBI. Read and the revise the current affairs of the last six months. It is also important to get well versed with the Monetary Policy, RBI, SEBI, Business News, NBDC, Repo Rates, Fiscal Policy, etc.

Reasoning: Go through the previous year’s paper to get a glimpse of the type of questions asked in the exam. Revise the topics from Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Blood Relation, etc.

English and Quantitative Aptitude: English and Quantitative Aptitude section carries the same weightage in the RBI Grade B exam. Practice as much as you can. Basic understanding of both these sections can help you in sailing through the exam. Also, you should learn shortcut tricks for Quantitative Aptitude. This will save your time while doing calculations.

Mock test: Mock test is the most important step in competitive exam preparation. After completing all the key topics, you should test your speed and accuracy by taking the mock test. As RBI Grade B exam has sectional timings, therefore, it is important to go through the mock test.
