UPSC will release CDS (2) notification 2020 and application form on August 5. The last date to apply for the exam is August 25.

CDS

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release CDS (2) notification 2020 on August 5. Along with the notification, the application form will also be released. CDS application form 2020 can be filled till August 25. The written exam will be conducted across various cities in the country on November 8.

CDS is conducted twice in a year to select eligible candidates in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Selected candidates will have to undergo training at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers' Training Academy (OTA).

CDS 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates to apply for IMA and Officers’ Training Academy must be a graduate.
  • For Indian Naval Academy, candidates must have a degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Candidates to apply for Air Force Academy, must have a degree and studied Physics and Mathematics in Class 12.
  • Candidates must be physically fit to carry their responsibilities.

How to apply for CDS exam?

The steps to fill CDS application form are given below.

  • Visit the official website upsc.gov.in
  • Click the Part-I link to register for CDS exam
  • Enter personal details, address and educational qualification to apply online for CDS
  • Candidates are also required to choose their preferred branch
  • Verify the details before submitting the registration form
  • On successful registration, the registration ID will be generated
  • Login with the registration ID to fill Part-II of application form
  • Candidates need to pay the application fees. The fee for General and OBC male candidates is Rs 100 while Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee payment
  • Select CDS exam centres
  • Candidates need to upload scanned images of photograph and signature
  • Submit the details and take printout of application form as well as fee receipt
