
CDS Recruitment 2026: To choose applicants for admission to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy, and Officers' Training Academy (OTA), CDS recruitment is performed. The hiring process happens twice a year. The UPSC will conduct the CDS 1 exam on April 12 and CDS 2 exam on CDS 2 exam on September 13, 2026. The CDS 1 notification was released on December 10 and application dates were December 10 to December 30. A total of 451 vacancies were announced for the CDS 1 exam.

CDS Negative Marking Scheme
The competitive exam conducted by the UPSC follows a negative marking scheme as the CDS exam. 1/3 marks are deducted as a penalty for wrong answers in the CDS exam. The candidates are advised to answer the questions which are they sure of or they penalised for the wrong answer.

After qualifying the SSB round, the selected candidates need to undergo a medical examination. A candidate is declared medically fit or unfit after the result announcement. After qualifying all the selection rounds they will go for training.
