CUET 2026 General Test Question Paper Analysis
CUET UG General Test exam 2026 will be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026. National Testing Agency will administer the entrance exam in Computer Based Test mode, which means that candidates have to select the answers on a computer system, at their allotted CUET exam centre. General Aptitude Test is the third section of CUET 2026 exam and is framed to assess a candidate’s logical reasoning, quantitative ability, general awareness, and analytical skills.

CUET UG 2026 General Test Analysis
National Testing Agency will conduct CUET general test exam on multiple days, in two shifts, across multiple exam centres in India and abroad. Students appearing for the exam for 2026 admissions or preparing for next year can check this section to know CUET General Test exam analysis for both shifts on each exam day. CUET General Test Question Paper will include 50 questions in MCQs format and candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the exam. Students taking the exam must note that there is a negative marking of 1 marks for every incorrect answer.

Commonly asked questions
CUET UG Language section will include 50 questions. Candidates must attempt all questions. There will be no optional questions.
The language section will check candidate's reading comprehension based on different types of passages. This section will also include questions from grammar. To prepare for the CUET UG language section, candidates must solve previous year question papers and mock tests to become familiar with the type of questions asked in the exam.
The CUET questions are objective in nature and carries four options also known as MCQs. Candidates will have to choose the correct answer option and click on it with the help of mouse. Since CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in a CBT mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. In case it is the correct option, students will get +5 marks and in case of wrong answer, negative marking scheme will be applied. Hence, candidates must ensure the accuracy of the answer before selecting the answer.
The difficulty level of the CUET exam varies between moderate and tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots. While for the well-prepared candidates, the difficulty level will be low, for the underprepared students, the level of difficulty will be on the higher side.
On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2025-26, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top central universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission:
- Very Good Score: 700 and above
- Good Score: 650 and above

CUET General Test Difficulty Level
According to past years’ trends, the CUET difficulty level of General Aptitude Test is expected to be moderate. Once GAT 2026 begins, Shiksha will mention day-wise difficulty level of the exam to help students taking GAT on further dates can prepare accordingly.

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme 2026:
- Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
- Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
- Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
- If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

SRM IST Kattankulathur does mention that its school of Science & Humanities accepts CUET-UG scores for admissions. However, that school has not mentioned anything regarding CUET-UG accepted for any BSc course admissions. Thus, candidates should ask this question from the admission desk.

Jettwings Business School offers BCom and BBA at UG level. The college does not compulsarily require CUET for admitting students. Candidates who meet eligibility are offered merit-based admission. Candidates must fill the application form on time.

No, Bokaro Institute of Medical and Health Sciences admissions do not require CUET. The institute offers merit-based admissions. Students simply have to pass Class 12 with PCM/ PCMB/ PCB and a minimum aggregate of 45% from a recognised board.

No, CUET is not compuslory to take admission in RV University Mysuru. The college offers merit-based admission to most of the progarmmes. Merit is decided based on marks obtained in last qualifying exam.

There is no entrance exam conducted by HNBGU Pauri Campus. The college accepts the scores of CUET. After CUET results, the university releases its own merit list based on CUET scores. Hence, to get admission here, good marks in CUET is essential.
