How to fill IIT JAM 2019 application form

Online applications for IIT JAM 2019 are expected to commence from September, 2018 onwards. Know how to fill IIT JAM 2019 application form at Shiksha.

On behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) conduct Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) every year on a rotational basis to offer admission to candidates in different Science courses offered at colleges accepting exam scores. The exam is conducted to provide admission to candidates in MSc and other postgraduate courses offered in seven Science subjects: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Physics, and Biological Sciences.    

Online applications for IIT JAM 2019 are expected to commence from September, 2018 onwards. Know how to fill IIT JAM 2019 application form in online mode below. It may be noted that exam authorities do not give the option of filling the form in offline mode.

Step 1: Register on the admission portal of IIT JAM

To start with, candidates need to register themselves on the admission portal of IIT JAM – JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). Candidates can register themselves by using the details mentioned below:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Password (to be created)

Once registration is done, an enrollment ID will be sent on candidates’ registered email ID and mobile number.

Step 2: Login to registered accounts

Candidates can login to their registered accounts by using their enrollment ID and password (generated in step 1). Once logged in, IIT JAM 2019 application form will open on the screen.

Step 3: Fill IIT JAM 2019 application form

Details to be filled in the application form are as mentioned below:

  • Exam: This includes selecting one or two Science test papers (Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Geology/ Mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Physics/ Biological Sciences) for which a candidate wants to give the exam
  • Exam centre: Here, candidates need to select the cities in which they want to give the written test
  • Personal details: Here, candidates need to enter details such as name, date of birth, gender, etc
  • Address
  • Education: This section requires candidates to enter their educational qualification such as name of the last qualifying degree, passing year, college/ university name, marks obtained, etc    

Step 4: Upload signature and photo

Once all details in the form are filled, candidates need to upload their scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications:

  • Photo size: 5KB - 200KB
  • Signature size: 5KB - 100KB

Step 5: Pay IIT JAM 2019 application fee

Lastly, candidates need to pay IIT JAM application fee in online mode through internet banking/ debit card/ credit card. Amount to be paid as JAM application fee is mentioned below:

Note: Details regarding JAM 2019 application fee are not out yet. If any change in the amount to be paid as application fee is made, the same will be updated.

Once application fee is successfully paid, a dialog box will appear confirming that the application form has been received successfully. After this candidates’ IIT JAM 2019 application process will be complete.
