IAT Physics Most Important Questions

Most Important Questions in IAT Physics

Physics is an important subject for both MPC and BiPC students. It is the most challenging subject. IAT Physics has 15 questions. The number of questions is fewer, but they require conceptual knowledge and a good command of formulas to solve. To prepare for the IISER Physics paper, students must refer to the NCERT textbook to build the concepts.

IISER entrance exam is on June 7, 2026. Just a few days are left for revision. Students must focus on solving IISER previous year question papers daily. By doing so, students can identify the IISER 2026 Physics important questions.

IAT Physics questions will be based on Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrodynamics, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Semiconductor, etc.

IAT 2026 Physics Most Important Questions

Here we have provided the IAT Physics most important questions. Candidates can attempt these questions for practice purposes.

Q. 1. On a circular track, two cyclists, Abhijit and Vani, start moving in opposite directions from a point. Abhijit moves with a constant speed. Vani starts with a constant acceleration from rest. They meet again on the track with the same speed. Which of the following is correct?

(a) Abhijit travelled double the distance travelled by Vani.
(b) Abhijit travelled half the distance travelled by Vani.
(c) Abhijit travelled the same distance travelled by Vani.
(d) Abhijit travelled 4/3 of the distance travelled by Vani.

Q. 2. Consider a simple pendulum undergoing simple harmonic motion with a time period T, and a fixed amplitude  θ 0  of angular oscillation. Its angular momentum about the point of suspension exhibits an oscillatory behaviour with an amplitude A. Which of the following relations between A and T is correct?

Q. 3. An inextensible cord of negligible mass passes over the rim of a solid disc of mass M and radius R. The disc is free to rotate about an axis passing through the centre perpendicular to the plane of the screen. Two blocks of masses M and M/2 are attached to the two free ends of the cord. Assume that there is no slipping of the cord on the disc. The acceleration due to gravity is g. What is the value of the angular acceleration of the disc?

Q. 4. One mole of an ideal gas of volume V and temperature T is allowed to expand adiabatically to volume 2V while doing no external work. The universal gas constant is R. What is the pressure of the gas after expansion?  R T 2 V (b)  R T 4 V (c)  R T V (d)  2 R T V   Q. 5. A ball is thrown vertically upwards with an initial speed u from a height h above the ground. The ball eventually hits the ground with a speed v. The acceleration due to gravity is g, and the air resistance is negligible. What is the average speed of the ball over its entire trajectory?

Q. 6. An object is placed in front of a convex lens. A real inverted image of double its size is formed. When the object is moved closer to the lens by a distance d, the image shifts away from the lens by a distance 8d from its previous position. What is the magnitude of the magnification in the final setup?

It is quite difficult for the GEN / OBC category to get admission to IISER with 50 marks. Even the reserved category students have less chance in the later counelling round for admission. To secure admission, students must score above 150 marks.

IISER exam is considered of moderate difficulty level. Majority of students finds Physics, and Mathematics challenging. PCM students may find biology tough while PCB students might find Mathematics tough. However, the difficulty level of IISER compared to JEE Main and Advanced is moderate to easy.
