Punjab Engineering College is a Deemed-to-be-University which was established in 1921. It is affiliated with Punjab University. It has a vast campus spanning 146 acres and the university is a Grant-in-Aid program administered by the Indian government's Union Territory of Chandigarh. Punjab Engineering College offers undergraduate and postgradute programmes across Engineering and Technology streams. Peaceful life at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

Placements: For design, there’s almost no placement. No student has yet completed the course as it started three years ago, but still, looking at other factors, you will have to find internships yourself. The percentage of internships in 3rd year is 4 percent till now.

Infrastructure: Pretty campus, AC's in almost all classes except the old classrooms. For hostels, there are many restrictions. For girls, no one is allowed outside after 9, for boys, it’s a bit lenient. Clean rooms with windows. Boys’ hostel lacks a laundry though. A few small adjustments will have to be made.

Faculty: Everyone is helpful, but faculty lacks professors from a design background. I hope staff recruitment gets better. But still, a couple of teachers are amazing and definitely very helpful. The curriculum is exactly like IIT B's design course, so the whole course is inclined to industrial design and is technical.

The college beats many top-tier colleges in terms of placement, and the overall experience is great.

Placements: Approximately 70% to 74% of students have been placed so far. The highest package for the EE branch this year is 52 LPA. The average package remains 12.90 LPA and the lowest package offered was 3.20 LPA. Microsoft, Google, Apple, BMW, Maruti, L&T, and Siemens are some of the top recruiters.

Infrastructure: Personally, I feel the infrastructure is quite updated and should be replaced, and development is ongoing. Everything a student needs is present on the campus. I like the library, computer labs, and reading area. The classrooms are equipped with smart projectors, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. The hostels are quite decent; again, the infrastructure is quite outdated, and the mess food is also decent. Sports facilities are available for every kind of game, like volleyball, cricket, basketball, and there is also a swimming pool inside the campus.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. These are teachers qualified from prestigious colleges of India like IITs, NITs, and other top government colleges. It is really easy to communicate with them and get your doubts cleared. The courses are quite relevant, but not so relevant, which I believe should be updated. But it's the problem faced by almost every college, I guess, these days. For the most part, this makes you industry-ready too. Semester exams are not so difficult, but the grading is relatively strict, so you have to prepare accordingly.

Other: I chose this course because of the versatility and the good placements offered by this college. This branch allows me to take any job related to my field or a core-related job. I would like to skip some parts that are outdated and not used in the industry but are taught just for the sake of knowledge. The crowd is very good. The college organizes events, and sports competitions are held in our college. There are many scholarships provided by the college and the college is filled with extracurricular activities. You can have fun if you wish to.

My college review, the one and only Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

Placements: College is good with lots of great opportunities. I am currently in my first year in the metallurgy branch. I will be passing out in 2029. The top recruiting companies are Google, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, etc. The highest package is 77 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. While the average is 13 LPA.

Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not good, with decent infrastructure and a lack of facilities. Although the college is reputable, the infrastructure is not up to the mark, and Wi-Fi is also good. The library is decent, considering IITs, it is very below average, labs are good, and there are many labs.

Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh review.

Placements: In Industrial and Production Engineering, there are a total of 30 students, out of which 21 are placed last year. The average package is around 13 LPA, the highest is 20.85 LPA, and the lowest is 3.3 LPA. Maximum students are placed in consultancy firms, while some students from production and other branches prepare for the CAT exam. About 30 percent of the students get internships from my course.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of PEC Chandigarh is decent. First-year classrooms have AC, and the Computer Science department and ECE department also have AC. Wi-Fi is good. The infrastructure of labs is decent; some lab machines are old, while some have new machines. The library is good, and all types of books are available. Hostels are average but quite costly compared to other NITs. The mess is decent, and there is no hostel canteen. For medical facilities, there is a dispensary in PEC market where you can get medicines. Sports facilities are good, and all types of grounds are available, such as cricket, athletics, volleyball, squash court, etc.

Faculty: In the first year, I don’t have much idea about professors of my core subjects, but first-year teachers are good and qualified. The curriculum is good, and all important subjects and practical's are included. It makes us industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate. Around 30 marks are required to avoid a back in each subject.

Placements: About 70 percent of students got placed on campus, and multiple PPOs are offered. The off-campus data is not shared with the students. Overall, it has decent placements. The highest package is 20.90 LPA. The lowest package is 3.60 LPA. The average package is 11 LPA.

Infrastructure: Hostels are just good enough for surviving. However, rooms are pretty small for two students, and only one table is provided in a room of two. The tennis table is broken and the snooker room is non-functional. The mess food is good for mess standards, but definitely not of top quality.

Faculty: Mostly, teachers are not interested in teaching properly, but if we go up to them and ask doubts, they will help us. They won't be very helpful otherwise. It's very hard to understand what they are teaching in classes (the same is in most colleges), so ChatGPT will help us a lot.

It has strong academics, supportive faculty, good placements and comfortable campus life.

Placements: I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, and my batch will graduate in the year 2029. The overall focus of our course was on practical learning and coding skills. Based on the previous passing out batch, almost 85 percent of students got placed in the same course. According to the placement data, the highest package offered in the last batch was around 61.03 LPA. The lowest package was close to 10 LPA, and the average package ranges from 16-17 LPA. Some top companies that visited the campus for the last batches included Google, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Amazon, and Microsoft.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our course is good and designed to support practical learning. We have well-equipped computer labs, high-speed internet, and updated software tools that help us in coding and project work. Hostel facilities are decent and well-managed. Rooms are clean and have basic furniture like beds, study tables, and cupboards. The canteen and mess food is simple and hygienic.

Faculty: Faculty members in our course are very supportive and focused on practical learning. Most teachers have a good academic background and industry experience, which helps in understanding real examples during classes. The course curriculum is designed to build strong fundamentals in computer science. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Questions in exams mostly come from the syllabus taught in class, along with practical applications.

Punjab Engineering College campus extends over 149 acres of land close to the beautiful Shivalik hills. The campus is divided into various functional zones like hostels, a main institute building, a new academic block, an administrative block, a technology block, a residential complex for faculty and staff, and a market.

Central Library offers its services to about 3000 users comprising undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and research scholars of different branches of Engineering. The library is housed in an area of 27000 sq. feet, having two interlinked buildings, an old block and a new block. The new block is a spacious library extension block consisting of three separate floors with a central air-conditioning facility.
The campus is equipped with a controller-based wireless network consisting of over 300 wireless access points that cover the academic area, providing seamless internet access throughout the campus. This wireless network enables users to access network resources from any location within the campus. The centre houses a cluster of Windows and Linux-based servers for email and web application hosting.
The Institute offers various sports facilties such as Cricket, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, and Badminton.The Institute features a Gym-cum-Badminton Hall and a Swimming Pool Complex.
Punjab Engineering College's main campus has four hostels for boys namely, Shivalik Hostel, Himalaya Hostel, Kurukshetra Hostel, and Aravali Hostel, and two hostels for girl students viz. Kalpana Chawla Hostel and Vindhya Hostel.
