Chandigarh University is a private university and was established in 2012. It is a popular university in Punjab and is recognised by the UGC. In 2019, CU became the youngest university in the country to be accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade in the first cycle itself. The university had also become the only state-private university of Punjab to be accredited by NAAC. It is the only university in Punjab and the region to get accredited by NBA for its Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communications, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and MBA programmes.

Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST: This financial assistance (offered via UGC) is offered to 1,000 SC/ST candidates who are pursuing postgraduate courses in professional* subjects via the National Scholarship Portal. Selected candidates will be provided a scholarship amount of INR 7,800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For other courses, INR 4,500 per month. Further, the tenure of the scholarship is for two/ three years depending upon the tenure of the PG course.
4. Pre-Earned Credit Program Scholarship: In 2021, the university introduced this scheme to provide up to 50% scholarship on the academic % after appearing in the Coding Boot Camp certification test.
