BHU - Where modernity meets tradition.
Placements: Placements in our college have recently got a boost as there has been a development of a new placement cell which has a more professional outlook in this regard. Most students opt for master's or government job rather than placement as opportunities are more bright after that but still many students got placed this year. The median package offered is 5 LPA and the highest package is 12 LPA. Roles like data analyst, area manager, sales executive, and business analyst are offered in companies like Mahindra Finance, Bajaj Insurance, ICICI Prudential, Accenture, TCS, and Adani Power.
Infrastructure: As our college recently concluded its 110 years of foundation it was made in Indo-Tibetan influence of building which provides a unique look to it. Every department is equipped with modern classrooms and labs with modern tools used for research papers. Our central and cyber library is a huge department in itself with a capacity of 3,000 students and 3 lakhs books and journals. Hostels are equipped with 24/7 Wi-Fi and drinking water. Each hostel has its own ground for sports and also has access to subsidized health facilities. Mess offers clean hygienic food with unlimited filling.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and are renowned experts in their field with research publications in foreign universities. Course curriculum is not relevant in today's industry needs as it is more theoretical based rather than practical approach which includes programming languages. Semester exams are moderate-tough level also professors strictly awards marks to students which can demoralize a student's attitude towards learning.
Other: I chose this course economics with States and Maths as it would help me to develop an analytical understanding of today's world demands and help to develop a career in data science fields. Things like marks should be more leniently awarded to boost students' confidence and curriculum should be updated to industry-level needs. Fests like Spandan and Sanskriti are conducted every year. Also, mini-fests are conducted every month. This helps to develop the college culture which is vibrant here also students can join clubs of their interest in any field. Scholarships are available mostly to underprivileged students on a merit-need basis.

The university excels in its faculty, campus life, tier exposure, and placement opportunities.
Placements: Being an eco-student at BHU is good; the university offers moderate chances for placement at many companies such as TCS, Accenture, CAG, ICMR, UPES, etc. A minimum of 50–60% of students get internships, and 30–40% receive placement offers. The average salary is 3 LPA, with the highest being 6 LPA. Roles include management and data analytics.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of BHU is good, with classrooms equipped with smart boards and projectors, employing modern techniques. BHU boasts two vast libraries, and the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There are 72 hostels in BHU Mess, offering average food, along with numerous expansive sports grounds for each faculty member.
Faculty: Teachers in BHU are highly experienced and qualified, possessing good teaching qualities. They are highly knowledgeable and focus not only on book knowledge but also on holistic development. The curriculum is not too modern and hardly prepares students for the industry. Exams are moderately challenging, with an 80%+ passing percentage in every semester.

Good place for study, green and large infrastructure with quality teaching.
Placements: Placements for Social Science faculty are relatively low. Courses like Economics have better opportunities for placements. 5-10 percent of students get placed every year. The companies that come for placements are mostly Indian. The package is around 10-15 LPA at most.
Infrastructure: BHU has a very large and green infrastructure. It has the facility of 4 GB free Wi-Fi each day. The hostels are mostly two-seater with bedding and food facilities. The mess provides good quality food, and the rate is ₹50 per meal. The grounds here are well maintained.
Faculty: Teachers here are well-qualified. Some of them are quite exceptional in their respective fields. Classes here are 5-6 hours each day except on holidays and Sundays. The curriculum is mildly relevant, and there are some portions which are not obsolete. Exams here follow a (70+30) pattern. The 30 marks are divided into 20 for internal tests and 10 for assignments. 70 marks are awarded for external tests. The marks given are good and fair.
Other: There are schemes for economically weaker students like government-funded scholarships and Learn While Earn, which is a part-time job facility provided by BHU itself. The campus life is pretty good, and it is a co-ed system. Varanasi is a beautiful place, and there are many places to visit here.
