BITS Pilani to Organise Workshop on IoT and Blockchain
March 9, 2020: Department of Civil Engineering, BITS Pilani - Birla Institute of Technology and Science is organising a workshop on Internet of Things and Blockchain in University campus. The focus of workshop is on in-depth coverage of following topics:
- IoT, IoT Systems, Sensors, IoT Prototyping, Cloud Applications, Arduino & NodeMCU Application Sense Data and Use of APIs to Cloud
- Introduction to Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Distributed ledger technology, Smart contracts
- Current State-of-the-art and research trend
- Case Studies in Civil Engineering
The two-day event will be organised between April 17-18 to which application are open. At this workshop the participants will learn more about these two most exciting new technological paradigms and their applications to civil engineering. The workshop will not only present a panorama of IoT and Blockchain, but will also explore how Blockchain can safely access IoT's commercial and organisational interest in support of collaborative activities such as sensing, sorting, storage and connectivity. Seats are limited to 50 and reservations will be made on first come first serve basis. Interested applicants need to pay nominal fee of Rs 2,500 latest by March 30. Participants willing to opt for accommodation on campus have to pad additional fee of Rs 500.
Biology Professor Receives Graham Bell Award
February 27, 2020: Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises Pratap Chnadra Sarangi awarded Biology professor Suman Kapur of BITS Pilani with Annual Aegis Graham Bell Award. The award was presented in several categories. Among 48 nominees in 16 categories, BITS was announced as winner in Innovation in Health Category. Other two nominees in same categories were MetFlux Research and HCL. Apart from these, companies such as WIPRO, CDOT, CISCO, Huawei, Idea-bridge, Uber Technologies, Reliance Foundation, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, Siemens, Tata Communications and Bharti Infratel were also nominated in other categories.

IT'S SO OBVIOUS THAT BITS IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PRIVATE COLLEGE IN INDIA AND ALSO EVEN BETTER THAN MANY OF THE GOVERNMENT COLLEGES.
