Dissatisfied with the lack of practical support and academic guidance from the college.
Placements: There is no placement system for our B.Sc. Botany course as it is a general undergraduate course and it does not offer campus placements or packages. There is no highest, lowest, or average package and also no specific recruiting companies or job roles are offered. Similarly there are no course-specific internships provided by companies.
Infrastructure: Our college doesn't provide any Wi-Fi facility. Also, the labs are not very good. Most of the basic equipment like microscopes and others is not in good working condition. There's no hostel or canteen in the college. The library is decent with almost all the needed academic books. In sports and games, our college always gets better results than others.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are really helpful but the rest of them are not. Though most of them are very much qualified, they get lazy when it comes to taking the classes regularly and properly. The semester exams are not very difficult but due to a lack of guidance, students don't get good results.
Other: I chose this B.Sc. botany course as I like plants. The best things about this course are the field visits. I wish our labs would be more organized and student-friendly with upgraded equipment.

It is good for middle-class family students. So I will give it 6 out of 10.
Placements: 28 to 30 percent of students got placed from my course. The highest package is 12 LPA. Some top recruiters are TCS. We all do internships in some other universities and colleges like Adamas University. A manager in a biochemist laboratory in Japan, which is one of the top posts.
Infrastructure: There are 2 laboratories in our faculty and 3 professors and a laboratory staff. They are very kind. No Wi-Fi is available in our faculty. We have the availability of things needed in the laboratory. We have no hostel facility in our college or in our faculty. There is a good medical system.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and they are all Ph.D. holders from those years. They are all enough to make a student's career successful. This course is very relevant to the students, and it makes students ready for industrial circumstances. The semester exams are above average in difficulty. The passing percentage is about 70 percent.

It's overall a good college, but CU just makes exams miserable.
Placements: 20 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 78 LPA, one of them got into Nvidia, and mostly TCS. All of us have gotten a dummy internship, as it is mandatory. We don't know what company we will get placed in or what roles, but it's mostly R&D. The lowest package is just 3 LPA, and the rest is kind of vague.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good. Wi-Fi is good. The labs are equipped. There is a big campus, a games room, and a gym. The classrooms are clean, bathrooms are fairly clean, the ground is very big, and it has a pretty good sports team, not a bad variety in sports, and the hostel is available, although it is mediocre.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, knowledgeable, and very healthy but they don't get much time to teach us as CU always keeps them busy with official work, examination duty, copy checking, and practical exam duty. The curriculum is very relevant but you won't get time to study. Faculty is good and supportive.
Other: Fests are conducted at peak.

Great and peaceful campus with a great learning experience.
Placements: There was no placement facility available. Moreover, this college was a general degree college. Some departments provided good connections. Many events, meetings, and programs were arranged by the college authorities. It was affiliated with the prestigious University of Calcutta. It was a plus point.
Infrastructure: This college had enough space, good infrastructure, and a pleasant environment. There were enough classrooms to conduct all kinds of batches. Many science department labs had enough facilities to provide a great experience, at least at the graduation level. However, hostel facilities were not available.
Faculty: Professors were well-learned. Some of them were really brilliant and provided a great learning experience. But some teachers were not interested in teaching and were busy with their personal lives. Students could experience bias in some cases.
Other: There was no ragging or bad treatment from seniors. Overall, the college life was calm and composed. The campus was very pleasing, with a small ground and a beautiful garden. Compared to other nearby colleges, this college campus was much bigger. Overall, the college experience was calm and composed.

A bit dissatisfied with the environment here.
Placements: None of us received any placement. They did not even advertise anything about placements. If we consider the global market, then pharma companies like Wipro and Sun Pharma recruited us as freshers, lab assistants, etc. From our batch, nobody got an internship.
Infrastructure: We had Wi-Fi on our floor. Our labs, classrooms, and library were well equipped. The hostel facilities were good enough. The food in the mess and canteen was average. There were good sports and games facilities. Many students even went for national-level matches and won medals. But the medical facilities were of average quality.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified and helpful. The teaching quality was not very good, but not bad either. Sometimes teachers were present but did not take classes. The course was relevant, more towards research and, to some extent, industry-oriented. The difficulty level was moderate. The pass percentage was about 80%.
Other: I chose this course because I was fascinated by studying bodily functions at the molecular level. The course gave me that exposure. The campus environment should have been improved. Overall, everything was above average.

Serampore College - A modern heritage.
Placements: In regard to placement I won't say it was poor. The truth was none of the students was interested in job opportunities and as a result no students were placed in any job. The majority of the students were interested in pursuing Master's and most of them got into IITs and other prestigious institutions. A few got scattered between other courses and preparation for government job exams. As a student my batchmates and I were not interested in placement offers and hence didn't look much into it. So there was no such job recruitment from my batch.
Infrastructure: The college didn't offered hostel facilities either on-campus or off-campus hostels. However there were student-friendly PG accommodations available within walking distance from the college equipped with all the daily required facilities. The campus was often described as the most beautiful campus among all the other colleges under CU. The infrastructure was historic and artistic architecture in its own right. The ghats near the college offered a peaceful opportunity for self-introspection and even the college campus provided opportunities for a stroll. The college canteen looked hygienic but food was cheap and good.
Faculty: The true highlight of the college was its faculty. The teachers were all excellent in their own field and easy to approach. Needless to say very helpful. The class timings and attendance were not very strict and were rather flexible according to the majority of students. The teachers respected a student's pace of understanding and taught accordingly. The courses of an undergraduate degree provided a strong base for the understanding followed in a postgraduate degree and this differentiated this college from other colleges. The semester exams were moderately difficult and almost everybody maintained a CGPA of more than 7.5 after graduation.
Other: The college was the best value for money option available to any student. The college fest usually featured professional Bengal artists and the event had always been a core memory for every student.

For admission to 5-year B.A LLB program at Hazra Law College, you need to take Calcutta University Law Entrance Test (CULET-UG) as the college does not accept the CLAT scores.

With  a score of 78% in class 12, you meet the minimum academic cutoff requirement.
