The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU. 

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q:   Can I select my colleges and courses preference under DU before DU seat allocation list is out for admission?

After the declaration of CUET (UG) results by NTA, the University of Delhi opened a preference-filling phase on its official website. Candidates are required to login on their CSAS (UG) dashboard to choose the courses they are willing to take admission if allocated. Candidates must give their preference for the course + college for every UG course selected by them.
For filling the preferences of course & college combinations in which they are willing to take admission, they must do the following:

  • Choose multiple course + college combinations (It is in the best interest of the candidate to fill the maximum number of preferences)
  • Take utmost care while selecting the course + college combinations as the order of selection will also determine the preference order.
  • Reorder the preferences to prioritize the preference order of course + college combinations
  • The submitted preference order will determine the allocation of seat 

Candidate must confirm their order of preferences for the course + college combinations by clicking on 'Submit' cutton on/ before the last day of the preference-filling. It is important to note - Editing the course + college combination preference list after the deadline of preference-filling will not be allowed.

Worth being in North campus.
Placements: The highest package is 5-8 LPA and the lowest is 2.6 LPA. The average salary package offered was 4-5 LPA. Top companies include corporate and consulting organisations like EY, Accenture, Genpact and Concentrix. Top roles include Media, publishing, and content creation.
Infrastructure: We have a language lab which plays a significant role in improving all three important skills like writing ans, grammar, and speaking. Secondly, we have a huge Library which is full of books having vast endorsement for literature. Moreover, we have different societies that are completely dedicated to literature, like Rhetoric Society for English debating, iridescent for writing and shakespeare club and many more.
Faculty: The English department of Janki Devi Memorial College has one of the best faculty setups. They are highly educated and approachable. I guess the curriculum is relevant, and it's so much of use to do Eng Hons, as in the real world you would be able to interact efficiently, and Eng Hons teaches you that.

Placements: From what I've heard, the college's placements are good but not the best. However, it depends more on the skills of the students than on the college's placements. Overall, the college is doing its best to develop the skills of the students with good quality education and active societies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is definitely very good, with a good variety of plants around campus. The whole campus is polished and looks quite vibrant. The classrooms and cafeteria are especially very good.
Faculty: Faculty of the Political Science department is really good, with good professors. They are easy to negotiate with and are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is excellent. They are really helpful with everything, such as projects, assignments, & the syllabus.

I am quite satisfied with the facilities provided by this college.
Placements: Janki Devi Memorial College provides a good placement. Right now, I am only in the first year, so I don't have much knowledge about the placements. But have read some reviews about the college and they all state that the college placements are average. However, for some courses placement are more than average.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure and maintenance are great. It is not that large as some other colleges, but the college is surrounded by greenery. We can see a lot of animals which are actually friendly here. About classrooms and buildings, we can hardly find any area that is not clean. Library is well-built with lots of books and many other articles, newspapers, etc. I live in the college hostel and a neat and clean environment is maintained in the hostel also.
Faculty: The college infrastructure and maintenance are great. It is not as large as some other colleges, but the college is surrounded by greenery. We can see a lot of animals that are actually friendly here. About classrooms and buildings, we can hardly find any area that is not clean. Library is well-built with lots of books and many other articles, newspapers, etc. I live in the college hostel, and a neat and clean environment is maintained in the hostel also.
Other: Professors in this college are really helpful. When I started attending classes at first, I was confused because the pattern of teaching changed from school to college. At that time, our professors helped us a lot. They taught us really patiently. They also approach those students who seem perplexed. The professors of this college are really good. Teachers are friendly and approachable. They listen to students.

The college is underrated.
Placements: Placements in my college are decent, like average. They provide decent placements as for B.Com (Hons), the average salary is around 4 to 5 LPA. The highest might go to 6-7 LPA. I am a first-year student, so I have no idea how well they do, but top recruiters include EY and KPMG,
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The campus is beautiful, and the library is amazing. But my concern is related to the labs. Some labs are exceptionally good but some are thrown under the bus, they aren't working very well. And as of canteen, decent food is served at an affordable price. Sports games and medical are all top-notch.
Faculty: Teachers are really friendly and helpful. Our teachers provide us with good skills for the future, so are good. And they teach us things that are relevant currently and in the future. Seminars are conducted for our exposure. The commerce association is so good, and I love it.

Janki Devi Memorial College is a place where you have the freedom to make a dream turn into reality.
Placements: The college has an inbuilt college society specially curated for the Placement Cell. This helps us get internships and offer letters. I am pursuing one currently too. But I genuinely think it can be a little improved. I have seen my own seniors getting into companies via the cell.
Infrastructure: They have all kinds of facilities needed for us, be it labs, Wi-Fi, or digital classrooms. Each aspect and department is good at its own niche. The canteen provides us with the healthiest food items without compromising on taste. It also makes us not miss our home.
Faculty: Teachers are really well-taught and educated in the way they deliver notes and lectures so that we understand everything. The course is just so relevant, as they make us apply such things in practical life. Semester exams are a little difficult, as I heard from seniors. I haven't given any yet, though, so I will experience it soon.
Other: They host some of the finest college events, and I just love being a student here. The crowd is below average, but the arrangements say it all.

First-year experience at JDMC.
Placements: I'm currently in the first year of a B.A. Program. So, I haven't experienced placements yet. From what I've heard, students get opportunities in areas like HR, content writing, marketing, research, and management. Internships are also available through different organizations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is fine overall, with decent classrooms, library facilities, and basic amenities. The hostel is okay too, but the mess food could definitely be improved. Wi-Fi is available, although it can be unstable and lag at times. Sports and medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: Faculty at JDMC is generally helpful and well-qualified. Most teachers explain concepts clearly. B.A. Program curriculum is fairly relevant. It gives students a good academic foundation. Semester exams are manageable if you keep up with syllabus & attend classes regularly.

Q:   Is entrance exam mandatory for admission to Delhi University?

DU changed its admission process through the common national level entrance exams discontinuing the old admission process based on Class 12 and UG course scores for UG and PG courses, respectively. the university now considers CUET UG exam for admission to its UG courses, namely BA, BSc, BCom, BSc (Hons), BA (Hons and BCom (Hons). CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test, while CUCET stands for Central University Common Entrance Test. CUET is the revamped version of CUCET. This exam is now considered by over 100 central universities for admission to their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For PG courses, namely MA, MSc and MCom, the university will be considering CUET PG conducted by NTA.

Yes, Delhi University offers LL.B. Courses to students. For admission, the candidates must clear the DU LL.B. Entrance Test. The eligibility criteria for LL.B. Is a Bachelor's or master's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate, 45% aggregate for CW/ OBC/ PwBD category candidates, and 40% for SC category candidates. Delhi University offers hostels to both male and female students. As per the information on web, the university allocates hostel to students based on their merit. The university considers the academic performance of the students and availability of seats for providing hostel. The university also considers factors such as distance from the university, disability, and financial need in allocating hostels to students. Besides, If a students fails in any semester, hostel facility is discarded. Almost all the hostels start their registration process in end of June or first week of July.

Q:   What is DU CUET UG Counselling process?
A: 

Before the CUET counselling process for DU will even begin, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. 

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories. 

  • The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.
  • If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.
  • Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.
  • Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & college
  • If they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification. 

Step 5: Once the DU-affiliated college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat. 

On the basis of the availability of seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals, DU may announce multiple allocation rounds. The University of Delhi will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before every allocation round. 

Q:   Can I enroll myself for a language certificate course at DU along with my regular graduation course?
A: 

Yes, many colleges under the University of Delhi offer part-time certificate courses in different foreign languages. However, it is advisable to enroll yourself for any of these only after the first year. In the first year, try to understand how your regular course works and then you can plan your certificate course accordingly. For the admission criteria and eligibility for different language certificate courses, students are advised to visit the official website of DU or affiliated colleges for details. 

Q:   I have to give CUET exam to get admitted to DU. Can I get admission to BCom (Prog) as I don't have Maths as a subject in Class 12?
A: 

To be eligible for BCom Prog. from DU, candidates must have completed their Class 12 with the following subject conditions:

  • Combination 1: Any one language from List A along with one among Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 OR
  • Combination 2: Any one language from List A along with one among Accountancy/ Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1

Additonally, students are also required to appear for CUET and have a valid score in the same exam for admission. As per the above eligibility, those who don't have Maths but have one among Applied Mathematics,Accountancy or Book Keeping are also eligible. 

Q:   How to apply for sports quota admission in DU?
A: 

Candidates desirous of taking admission to any of the undergraduate courses offered by the University of Delhi, such as BA/BA (Hons), BSc/ BSc (Hons) and BCom/ BCom (Hons), under the supernumerary quota (ECA and/or Sports) must appear in CUET (UG) exam. For final admissions to ECA and sports supernumerary seats, however, depends on two factors. These are as follows:

  • 25% weightage is aligned to CUET scores
  • 75% weightage is aligned to certificates/ trials/ performances

 

Q:   Can I get admission in Delhi University BBA without CUET?
A: 

University of Delhi BBA admission is through CUET exam. Candidates who meet course eligibility need to appear for this NTA exam to get a seat. There may not be any other provision for admission. Students who pass CUET need to register for DU CSAS for seat allotment. The complete process is carried out in online mode.

Yes, students can get into BBA course of DU with 50% aggregate. There is no minimum aggregate given in the admission brochure. However, the candidates may require certain aggregate. DU BBA admission is carried out through NTA CUET exam. The eligible students have to appear for this exam and secure a valid score to get a seat.

Q:   Can I get admission at DU in a BSc course without CUET?
A: 

No, Delhi University offers admission to the BSc programmes at its colleges based on CUET score only. There is no provision for direct admissions. Hence, aspirants must take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The national-level exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It is conducted in different phases. Eligible students can apply on NTA website to take the test. Students seeking admission to DU colleges should select DU college plus preferred course at the time of registration. 

After CUET result declaration, aspirants are required to register on DU CSAS portal. The course and college allotment process is done based on the preferences submitted by the students during the form filling. After final selections, students can pay the admission fee to confirm admission.

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme's eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following points:

  • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
  • Seat Intake
  • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by CSAS or University of Delhi

While minimum Class 12 are required, DU admissions are not based on a candidate's Class 12 performance. Instead, CUET UG score is the main selection criteria at DU. The higher CUET score, the better chances at top DU colleges. Hence, applicants have to meet the minimum eligibility of 40%-60% depending on the programme.

Q:   What is the course fees for two years MCA in Delhi University?

The total tuition fee of MCA at the DU is INR 480. Candidates have to pay the admission/first semester fee after selection to confirm their seats. The course fee structure is inclusive of various components, such as security deposit, hostel fee, etc. The mentioned fee is as per the official website/sanctioning body. How much is the application fees for MBA at FMS Delhi?

Candidates need to pay INR 1,000 as application fees for MBA at Faculty of Management Studies, DU. The application fees is INR 350 for SC, ST and PwD categories. The fees can be paid via any of the online payment modes.
