IIIT-Delhi Designs Mobile Application to Create Awareness Against COVID-19

April 14, 2020: IIIT Delhi - Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology has designed an android mobile application named ‘WashKaro’ to create awareness among the society about the Coronavirus. The app acts as a complete infodemic control system and was also presented at World Health Organisation (WHO), Geneva on April 8, through video conferencing. The users can listen or read the information from government advisories.

Benefits of application includes:

  • A Symptom Tracker for people to know if they are safe. There is also an in-built CovidTracer, a tool that tells people if they are near to any COVID-19 positive person. The technology uses a Bluetooth connection for establishing communication. It does not require and data connection or storage space on the device
  • Use of Artificial Intelligence technology to cross-refer news with WHO documents. This ensures that people are shielded from fake information and hoaxes

In addition, IIIT has also released a website called CoronaActionIndia

In addition, IIIT has also released a website called CoronaActionIndia, a revamped portal that houses all policy updates and validated information along with a dashboard to make it easy to navigate.

The creation of patient management and tracking tool is another successful initiative. Given the increasing number of patients every day, it can be helpful to have an organised online ledger that can track and monitor the affected individuals. The information is sourced from trusted sources such as WHO, public advisories from ICMR and reputed institutions such as AIIMS, New Delhi.

Actually pretty good in the recent times.

Placements: Approximately 70 percent of the people who sit in the placement grounds from my branch get placed. The highest package is around 36 LPA, with the average being around 20 LPA. Top recruiters are ICICI, Adobe, Siemens. Around 60 percent of students get an internship in MNCs.

Great campus, strong academics.

Placements: 96% of students who got a CGPA of more than 6 were placed with the highest of 50 LPA and the lowest of 6 LPA from top recruiting companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Natwest, Meesho, etc. Around 20% of students got paid internships with good stipends. The teaching staff is good, with proper teaching assistants. I hope you find that review useful.

Excellent faculty, good infrastructure and facilities, placement is also good, and the campus.

Placements: Placement is good. B.Tech Eve, being a new course, no batch has passed yet, so placement hasn't taken place for this course. Qualcomm, Western Digital, Nvidia, and Texas Instruments are some of the companies that come for placement for the ECE branch. It is also very easy to get software roles.

College curriculum is tough with high fees, but high placement and great faculty members.

Placements: Placement record of last year's batch was somewhat around 80 to 85%. This ratio varies among different branches. The minimum, according to my knowledge is 3.5 LPA, and the highest is somewhat around 1.2 crore. Approximately all the MNCs (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, Nvidia) visit our campus to recruit students. Around 80% of students get placed among the shortlisted students (shortlist based on CGPA above 7).

Best placements and good infrastructure, but academic life is stressful.

Placements: Placement is not good initially. But later on, almost 300+ students get placed out of 500, with an average package of 24 LPA, showing strong and well opportunities for future and development. If you're looking for the most advanced tech curriculum, this is the place.

It is a great college because of its placement records and excellent college life.

Placements: This college is known mainly for placements, as it has an excellent placement record. Every top company comes to our college, from Google and Microsoft to Adobe and Goldman Sachs. The average package is around 28 LPA, with almost 80% of students getting placed, even during the recession. These are the actual figures from the placement season 2024-2025. Everyone knows how much of a recession is going on in the CSE field. The college website might elevate the numbers, but every college does this. ...
