New course in ocean engineering with nice helpful faculty.
Placements: Companies which visited the campus included technip, mwh, fugro, dar al for ocean engineering. Max pay package around 6-7 lac per annum. All the interested students were placed. Roles offered to the students were Offshore structural design engineer, marine and coastal engineering. Few students also went for internship to NIO Goa. One joined incois as research staff at incois, Hyderabad after completing M.Tech.
Infrastructure: Since its a newly started course in iitb ( started 2013), the facilities are not as good as maybe IIT Chennai. There is computational lab with relevant software like sacs, mike for ocean engineering. Physical lab include automatic wave flume. Classrooms are airconditioned and better than anything elsewhere in india. Same for hostels, food is also good and economical.
Faculty: There are 3-4 regular faculty members. They all have Ph.D. from iits and foreign universities and extensive research background. Most of the faculty members at iitb have research interests in numerical and physical modelling. Both projectors and blackboard used for teaching. Student to teacher ratio is around 2. Course curriculum though new, is being regularly updated as per available resources.
Other: Iitb life is full of extracurricular events and fests. Scholarships are there like daad. Campus surroundings include powai lake, vihar lake, sanjay gandhi natl park, hiranandani gardens etc.

Great place, for study and environment.
Placements: Very good companies will come to IIT madras. With good skills and good CGPA students get very decent jobs in this college. I am planning for higher studies so I am not interested in placements. I prefer to join students in this college. But we have to work hard to get seat in this college, like we have to crack the rank.
Infrastructure: Will get single room and internet connection very good atmosphere. Good quality food. Washing machines. Very big library. Very experienced faculty. Over all very comfortable for higher studies in this college. Students will get very good experience in this college trust me.
Faculty: Very good planning course curriculum. Very high profiled and qualified faculty teach classes in this college. Good place to gain knowledge. If we concentrate will get lots of knowledge from faculty in this college to meet talented faculty. So I suggest students to work hard and get seat in this college.
Other: Will have, sasthra for technology fest, and saadang for entertainment fest. We can prove our self in respective fields.
