For admission to the MBA at SJMSOM, the CAT test was conducted on November 30, 2025. Aspirants of SJMSOM are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2025 is generally held in three slots:

• Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
• Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
• Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

The JEE Advanced cutoff for 2026 has been released for Round 1. For BTech in Chemical Engineering, the JEE Advanced first-round closing ranks were 2649 and 2750 for IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, respectively, for the students belonging to the General AI quota.

The course outline of mechanical in IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay is similar and is quite well aligned with the course structure of top ranked international universities and the mechanical is one of the most desired and demanded branches in the IITs. The universities stand on similar QS ranking level and the facility and quality of infrastructure on average is almost the same in both the campuses, IITB has a lake, a pretty larger campus than that of IITD whereas IITD stands in a very desired location of Delhi ( in Hauz Khas) which stands very close to the international airport and various railway stations and is comparatively very green and clean than the outer Delhi. The trends of placement or students going for further studies differ very less and if you are really relying on placements to be a deciding factor, you'll still be in doubt. If we look at the opening and closing ranks of the department in both the colleges, the mechanical in IITB opens before it starts at IITD and also closes some numbers before, but the range is quite same. Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.

Students holding Bachelor's degree with 60 percent marks (55 percent for reserved category) are eligible to apply. Eligible students should visit the IIT Bombay website to fill the application form. The selection is through GATE or MAAT exam followed by an interview round.

Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (BA/ BCom or other degrees) or a four-year BA, BS, BTech or an earlier postgraduate degrees such as MA, MSc, etc. with a minimum of 60% aggregate for GN/ EWS/ OBC (NC) and 55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD can apply for MA by Research. Aspirants shall keep the documents for verification ready at the time of admission as well.

The institute offers Merit-cum-Means Scholarship to a maximum of 25% of the sanctioned intake of UG and MSc students. Facilities of Free Messing is also available to SC/ ST students under which they get an exemption from paying the tuition fees. In addition, the Office of the Dean Alumni & Corporate Relations manages the Named scholarship endowed by the alumni of the Institute and other wellwishers. The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is 67 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology.
