IIT Delhi Placement Overview 2025

According to the press report released by IIT Delhi, UG students of the Institute have secured 850 unique offers during the placement drive 2025. The number of unique offer this year has increased as compared with previous three years. Earlier, the number of unique offers made in 2024, 2023 and 2022 was 781, 768 and 712, respectively. The number of unique offers is expected to increase further as the IIT Delhi placement season 2025 is ongoing. Core (Technical) emerged as the top recruiting sector with placement distribution of 34% during IIT Delhi placement 2025. 61% of the students have been placed till date during the 2024-25 placement season. Earlier, IIT Delhi placement rate recorded during placements 2023 was 84.94%. As per NIRF report 2025, IIT Delhi BTech placement rate in 2024 was around 83.5%. Further, IIT Delhi MBA placement rate recorded in 2024 was 100%.

At end of Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed during the Phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2025. Further, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. Top recruiters such as BCG, Barclays, American Express, Oracle and PayU offered double-digit offers to UG students.

The median package offered during BTech placements in 2024, 2023, and 2022 were INR 19.08 LPA, INR 20 LPA, and INR 20.5 LPA, respectively. The highest and average package offered to MBA students in 2024 was INR 40.5 LPA and INR 23.4 LPA.

Core (Technical) sector emerged as the top recruiting sector that placed 34% of the total students during IIT Delhi placement 2025. It was followed by IT, Consulting and Management sectors with placement distribution of 20%, 14% and 13%, respectively.

Meanwhile, IIT Delhi alumni network is one of the most active alumni associations of the country that operates through a network of international and national chapters. The alumni association of IIT Delhi has a member strength of 6000 Graduates and is growing at about 2,000 students every year.

Other than this, according to the official placement brochure 2025-26, Core Technical was the most demanding sector with offer distribution of 34%. If you are passionate about this course, then join this by clearing the GATE.

Placements: In M.Tech, students become eligible for placement from the 3rd semester in the M.Tech programme. Accenture, Flipkart, Deloitte, etc., companies have visited the college for placement, and almost 75% students get placed. The highest package is 25 LPA, and the average package is 8 LPA. 75-85% students get placed in IIT New Delhi in the M.Tech programme. The companies that provide internships to students are Celebal Technology, Deloitte, TCS, Mu Sigma, etc., and a trainer internship is provided to the deserving candidates. Some companies offer a stipend, while some internships are unpaid.

Infrastructure: The gym facility is available inside the campus for hostelers, the cafeteria is also there, and library facilities are also available. They are open till 6 pm every day. The hostel facility is quite affordable, but the buildings are old and in need of significant repair. The mess serves decent food. Wi-Fi all over the campus with cctv security. Classrooms are world-class, all-digital facilities available. The campus is big.

Faculty: The timing is enough to prepare for the semester examination, and the difficulty level is moderate. If we study, we can pass the exam with good marks. The faculty-to-student ratio is good, and there are individual faculty members for every subject in M.Tech.

Other: I have chosen this course because it will give me a lot of exposure in environmental engineering, and the placement is also good compared to other courses. The teaching method should be improved by adding practical knowledge and skills rather than theoretical knowledge.

Totally satisfied with this college. You have to secure an AIR of 1200 or below to get admission.

Placements: 100% of students get placed in our course. The highest package offered is 3.4 crore per annum, and the lowest package is 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Google, ISRO, Microsoft, DRDO, and Wipro. 100% of students get placement in the 1st year itself. Top roles offered at our college are Project Manager, Director, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure in our course/department include fully air-conditioned rooms, 24-hour Wi-Fi with 250 Mbps speed. The library contains all national and international books. Labs are fully equipped with all required items. The mess and canteen food quality and quantity are very good and affordable.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. They provide 24/7 support. This course is curriculum-relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are really hard. They are mostly open-book tests, and still, 30% of students cannot pass. You have to clear your concepts to pass.

The faculty in the Civil Engineering is excellent.

Placements: Around 80-85 percent of Civil Engineering students at IIT Delhi get placed each year, with average packages around 18 LPA-20 LPA, the lowest near 7 LPA-8 LPA, and exceptionally high crossing above 1 crore per annum in rare cases. Top recruiters include consulting, tech, and PSU companies such as BCG, American Express, Microsoft, IOCL, and BPCL. Many students also secure internships in similar firms, with roles in consulting, project engineering, infrastructure management, and design. Overall, the department offers strong opportunities across core and non-core sectors.

Infrastructure: The department has good labs, Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and access to a well-equipped central library. Hostels have decent rooms, regular cleaning, and basic amenities. Mess food is average, but canteens are better. Medical facilities, sports grounds, and gyms are all reliable.

Faculty: Teachers are generally qualified and knowledgeable, though the teaching quality can feel uneven at times. The curriculum is relevant and provides a good technical foundation, but may not fully match industry needs. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and most students pass with consistent effort.

Other: It is the best college for civil engineering in India.

You should choose this branch if you want to learn other subjects and aim for an IIT college.

Placements: Around 80–90% of students are placed in the Textile Department B.Tech course. The highest package is around 60 LPA, and the lowest is around 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Goldman Sachs, American Express, JP Morgan, McKinsey, BCG, Brain, Flipkart, Amazon, Meesho, Zomato, Aditya Birla, Trident, Vardhman, and others. Around 50% of students get internships. Top roles are Business Associate, Data Analyst, SDE, AI-ML, and Finance roles.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. Labs and classrooms are dedicated to core textile learning and other open courses for different disciplines. The library runs throughout the year. Hostels are not well-facilitated as they were built in the 1970s. Average food, medical, sports, and games facilities are available.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful for core textile jobs. The course curriculum is relevant to core textile jobs and management roles. The courses make students industry-ready. The difficulty of exams ranges from medium to hard. The pass marks vary from 20 to 40% depending on the course.

Other: I chose this course because I want admission to IIT Delhi. I think everything about my course is good. There are many events, fests, connectivity, scholarships, and extracurricular activities throughout the year.

The intern season is good, and the crowd is also good.

Placements: The intern season 2025 is good. But placements are not as strong since the number of companies coming for placements is less than expected. Overall, the intern season this year comprises mainly quant and tech companies, with not much for consult and PM roles.

Infrastructure: The college lecture hall complex infrastructure is good. But the hostel conditions are poor, with mediocre food in the mess and poor maintenance. Sports facilities are good throughout the campus. There are some great food outlets.

Faculty: Core course faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified. But some of them lack empathy for students, whereas the humanities course professors are great on campus. I feel the education system is somewhat outdated, but it has been renewed for the new batch.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, though placements are good.

Placements: The percentage of students placed is around 70–80%. The highest package is around 90 LPA. The lowest package is around 6 LPA, and the average package is around 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies for the course are Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, etc. Around 50–60% of students get internships.

Infrastructure: There are enough resources available, such as high-tech labs, good lab staff, large and spacious classrooms, proper ventilation, and good maintenance. The quality of food is very poor. Nobody keeps a check on it. No proper hygiene, sanitation, or food quality checks are done.

Faculty: Most teachers are qualified and very helpful in explaining and teaching. But some new faculty members are not that good in terms of their academic backgrounds. The curriculum was recently revised. It does not make us industry-ready. Exams are good. The pass marks are 40%.
