IIT Delhi Inaugurates First Lactation Room to Support Nursing Mothers

June 11, 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has inaugurated its first Lactation Room, providing a dedicated, private space for nursing mothers on campus. The initiative reinforces the institute’s commitment to building a supportive and inclusive environment for its community members.
The inauguration was marked by the presence of a new mother from the IIT Delhi community and a thoughtful welcome from the Director, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, who reaffirmed the institute’s ongoing efforts to make the campus more inclusive.
This initiative was made possible through the CSR support of Shorthills AI, a data and AI company committed to driving inclusive change.
Paramdeep Singh, Co-Founder of Shorthills AI, said, "I believe real progress begins with equal opportunity and care for all. We are honoured to support IIT Delhi in this important initiative. As an alumnus of the institute, it feels meaningful to give back to the ecosystem that shaped us.
The Lactation Room is now open and accessible to all nursing mothers on campus.

DTU and IIT delhi are both topmost universities available in India. The placements given to these university students are also good. The infra is quite good for both the universities, hence the comparison between them is not possible. In the end, it depends on students what is best for them.
