Opportunities in Jadavpur University.

Placements: The placement record of our university is very well. All the students get job in campus drive but some of people opt for higher studies. Companies like CESC, Bajaj, Visa, Accenture, Texas Instruments came to give up internship opportunities. The average package is 10 lakh per annum for our department.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well enough. Labs are quite good. Free Wifi is available in campus. There is also hostel facilities with very reasonable price for needy students. There are canteens in campus and also cheap store. University has a big playground where students can play games and sports. There are lots of club like-Coding Club, Drama Club, E-cell, Singing Club, chess club, aerospace club.

Faculty: The teacher are highly qualified. They make us understand new things in very efficient way. They help us in every problem related studies. The course curriculum is well designed as per the syllabus of GATE. The semester exams are difficult but if you attend the classes regularly then you surely will find it easy to answer.

Other: I chose this course because it covers all the power generation systems which I like. The course combines the two core department electrical and mechanical. And also our campus is very much student friendly. There are lots of Internship and project work related opportunities. University provides very well campus placement.

Jadavpur, a legendary high ROI producing college.

Placements: Near about 96-98% of students are placed, varying every year. The remaining 2-3% go for higher studies. Top recruiting companies include CESC, PwC, Deloitte, Texas Instruments, Haldia Energy Limited, Polestar, Accenture, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, etc. Roles include SDE, Assistant Engineer, and Senior Consultant. The highest package is 45 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average package is 10 LPA. About 5% of students secure internships in companies like CESC Limited, ABG, Siemens, and Accenture.

Infrastructure: On campus, Wi-Fi is available 24/7. The labs are good, but many things are in damaged condition. The library is well maintained. In my hostel, I was allotted a single room from my first year. I stay in a boys' hostel, which is exceptionally good. The meal charges are reasonable, with two meals provided each day at around 22-23 INR. At 10 a.m., we get one piece of fish or a vegetarian item along with unlimited sabji, rice, and dal. In the evening at 9 p.m., we get one piece of chicken or a vegetarian item like paneer, along with unlimited rice, sabji, and dal. The mess food is good, and the expenses are very minimal. There are many indoor sports rooms, a very large playground, a basketball court, a volleyball court, etc. There is also a medical chamber.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, talented, and knowledgeable, but not all teachers have good teaching quality. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready, with industry experts coming to teach. Semester exams are not very tough; if you study a month before the exam, you can easily pass with good marks. The pass percentage is 100%.

Other: Because of the hybridization of electrical and mechanical engineering, the academic pressure is slightly less than other core branches like EE and ME, allowing me to participate easily in extracurricular activities. An updated syllabus is very much needed. There are a huge number of events like CIIPPUS, U-Turn, SANSKRITI, SRIJAN, etc. There are many scholarships available, such as SVMCM, FREESHIP, and JU Alumni Scholarship.

All about Jadavpur University.

Placements: This B.E. course in power engineering has a 90% placement rate. It is a well-regarded course, especially if you want to pursue higher studies. You also get placed in IT companies on campus through this course with some basic knowledge of coding. The average package is 8–9 LPA.

Infrastructure: As for the feel, the structure is very basic, and the infrastructure is somewhat poor, but it gives off a different vibe, and the staff maintains it as much as they can. The fees for 4 years are 10,000 only. But if you face any problems, the classrooms, Wi-Fi, and labs are all well-maintained.

Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and well-trained in their subjects. Most of them have graduated from this college itself. This course combines electrical and mechanical to some extent, making it very industry-ready. The pass percentage is 50%.

I was pleased to learn that in 2022, approximately 10 students were offered more than one crore PA.

Placements: Our college has excellent placements. Many students are being placed in top companies and organisations. In our course, almost 90% of students are placed. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Airbus, PayU, Gupshup, Aditya Birla, TCS, ZS, Tata Power, etc., visit our campus. The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA by Amazon.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not so good. The quality of food served in the hostel is not so good. After 15 days, we do an ID, and on that day, many dishes are cooked. We wait for that day.

Faculty: Our faculty members are so good. They are very professional. You will get a lot of help from them. Every teacher is very polite and helpful. There are marks for completing all of the practical labs, but there are none for the other classes. Attendance for classes is not mandatory so you can explore yourself. The 4-year course can be completed with a fee below Rs. 4000.

Other: You will enjoy your college life if you join this college. We will enjoy ourselves a lot in college because in our college, each year, we celebrate a lot of festivals like Cippus, Turn, Srijan, and Sanskriti. We have celebrated many festivals at the hostel, such as the hostel tour, the hostel reunion, HPL, and many others.

Review of Jadavpur University.

Placements: Placements are a strong point of Jadavpur University. Around 95% of the students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA, the lowest salary package offered this year is 3.2 LPA, and the average salary package offered is around 8 LPA. Many companies come to our university for placements like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. In the core sector, Tata Power and CESC come to our college. Around 20% of the students are able to secure internships in companies like Samsung, Amazon, and Hotstar. Roles offered are SDE, analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities of our campus are quite good considering it is a government-run college. Labs are well-equipped with machines that work properly. The library is well-stocked with books and journals, and the whole campus is provided with a high-speed Wi-Fi connection. The quality of the hostel is average, and I heard the food is below average. However, some students can get a single non-sharing room.

Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:45. Some of them are renowned scientists who are more than happy to help and guide you. The curriculum is not up to date, but it provides complete knowledge that we need to gain expertise in our domain. Semester exams are a bit difficult compared to some other departments like CS and IT. Students need to study at least a week before so that they can secure decent marks. The pass percentage is 35% in tests and 50% in labs.

Other: I have chosen this course because it comes under a critical branch. Thus we are allowed to sit in most of the tech company campus recruitment. This course also has a lot of potential in the field of research. I wish that our curriculum gets more aligned to industry standards. Moreover, it would be better if coding lectures were involved in our coursework. Many events happen throughout the year. Notably, 2 important fests happen, in which one fest is conducted by engineering faculty members, and another one is conducted by each department.
