Placements: Placement of B. ProdE '24 batch is very good. Almost 98% of students are placed. The main thing about placements at Jadavpur University is that the students are the main stakeholders, so students are all in all. The Placement Coordinator is selected from the students through General Body meetings. So, the placement procedure is very simple and helpful for the students. Many companies visit the campus, such as PWC, Accenture, Jindal Steel, Papri Teach, Bajaj, etc. Not only domestic but also international companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Airbus, Samsung, and many more come to the campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the University is excellent. You will get free Wi-Fi throughout the campus, and every student will get their personal Wi-Fi ID. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned. There is a central library with a huge collection of books. There is also a digital library. Additionally, every department has its own departmental library. Hostel fees are minimal, and there are many canteens where you can get good quality food at an affordable price.
Faculty: The professors at the University are very good; they are helpful and friendly. They will assist you with any student problems, whether academic or personal. The course curriculum of the University is aligned with industrial trends and relevant to the market. Semester exams are a bit difficult, but if you study regularly, you will easily pass.
Other: I chose Production Engineering obviously for my WBJEE rank. The curriculum of the course is very interesting. The number of lab instruments should be increased for individual use. You will find an amazing campus here. There is a Tech Fest named Srijan, Cultural Fest i.e., Sanskriti, Freshers i.e., U-Turn, sports tournaments i.e., Arena, etc.

Reviewing Jadavpur University.
Placements: In JU, more or less 100 percent students of each department get placed due to its name tag and high quality of students. In my department, the highest package offered in 2022 was 1.5 Cr. from google and the lowest was 4 Lacs offered by TCS. Top MNCs like Brain and Zs Associate came for recruitments. Top core companies like Airbus, ITC, Mahindra and others visited as well.
Infrastructure: The labs are more or less in a good condition but the professors are highly qualified. Almost all of them have done their Ph.Ds which shows their experience and our department has a departmental library as well. There is also a central library. There is Wi-Fi facility across the campus providing good speed internet. Hostels are quite good as the rent is only ₹25/- per month with all the basic amenities available. The food is okay.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and they encourage us to write papers under them. They are highly qualified and almost all of them have done their Ph.D. from renowned institutes of the country. The curriculum is still back dated and does not make the students industry ready. The semester exams are quite tough and we have to study before hand to get a good score. Maximum number of students get a backlog.

Best ROI in the whole of India with the best campus life.
Placements: As of 2023 placements data, our department’s (production engineering) placement percentage was almost 95%. Out of 57 students, 55 opted for placements and 53 got placed in different companies such as PWC, Reliance industries, ZS, Google, Airbus, Brain, Amazon etc. The highest package offered in 2023 was 20 LPA with an average package of 9.08 LPA. The lowest package offered was that of 4 LPA. Internships were also offered in our batch mainly from Airbus, PWC. Out of 17 students, 9 got paid internships. As of 2024 batch, official report has not been released yet. But I can share some of it. Out of 57 students of 2024 batch, 53 opted for placements from which 46 got placed till now with an average package of approximately 11.3 LPA. The highest package of 2024 is 65 LPA offered by Apple.
Infrastructure: Actually the college was established in the year 1956. Due to lack of funding, it does not have enough modern infrastructure which other IITs and NITs have. But all the lab are well-equipped having one of the best laboratories in India. The hostels are decent but the hostel life is insanely great. Quality of food is also good. JU has a total of 8 canteens along with the hostel messes. There are libraries in every department as well as there is a huge central library which is the second the biggest library in the whole of Kolkata.
Faculty: Some of the professors are exceptionally good, so much so, that we used to worship them literally. Maths faculty and Productions faculty is very good and dedicated. There are sour grapes in the depth too. I would call some of the faculty members lazy and worked up rather than having poor quality. The teacher who taught us Software Engineering took just 4 lectures during the entire semester and gave us Powerpoint slides for notes. Professors are very humble, down to earth and most of them are easily approachable for doubts and even jokes. The curriculum is focused on advanced topics but the technology used is backdated. For example- Computer Graphics are still being taught using Borland Turbo C in a MS-DOS environment instead of using Open GL that IITs generally use. The best thing about exams is that the students of JU decide the dates of the examinations not the management. There is aGeneral Body Meeting in which the students decide the exam dates. The exams are not going to be easy. The level of difficulty of the question paper is high.

Our college has good placements, research culture, good campus life, and affordable fees.
Placements: I am currently studying at Jadavpur University in the Department of Production Engineering. Currently, I am in my 1st year, and 2nd semester. The batch of 2022 has above 90% placement percentage till now. The official average package is still not announced by the college but there are two International offers (off campus) till now which is the highest package, by Amazon (Dublin) of 1.1cr. There are also 5 more offers from the same company in other departments, 3 CSE, 2 IT, and 1 ECE. We have Tata Motors, ITC, PWC, ZS Associates, and Airbus as some of the big and renowned companies coming on campus. We have almost 50% of internships offered (both on and off campus) in the batch of 2023 and some of the internships in the batch of 2024. Our department has recruiters from the core, consultancy, and IT sectors. Thus offering jobs as data analyst, graduate engineer trainee, SDE (software Development Engineer), etc.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi all over the campus and labs have almost all the equipment and machines for practicals. We have 2 libraries, a central library and departmental libraries having almost every book needed through the course. The main campus has one main hostel 1.2 km from the campus. We all know its monthly rent and electric charges are Rs 25. So, can't complain more about infrastructure. The infrastructure is okay type. There are only for those who can't afford rented flats or PG. So, don't go to hostel until you have financial problems. But, the mess food is not bad. The mess charges are approximately Rs 1800-2000 per month. We have canteens located all over the main campus. Food is good and tasty. Sports and games are up to the mark. Tennis courts, basketball courts, etc. are avaialble on the campus.
Faculty: We have one of the well-qualified and award-winning professors in India. In Jadavpur, professors are doing exceptionally well in research and inventions. Every year 2-3 professors get recognition internationally. Production engineering and almost every branch in Jadavpur University is worth it.
Other: Every department of Jadavpur University is worth it. In four years, you are giving 12k as fees and making salaries in lacs. Here, you will be making good connections in 4 year. All the best!

You will never regret joining this college.
Placements: In our department, the batch strength is low close to 57. Our placement figure is awesome. Mostly everyone gets placed and if not so then they go for MBA or any higher studies in research. Analytics, core, and coding these three types of job roles are cracked by our seniors.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is self-sufficient. You will get every basic amenity and nothing to worry about infrastructure. It's a little old crumble looking from the outside but don't judge a book by its cover. I don't get a hostel but salt Lake hostels are very good and way ahead. It has a friendly environment.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. They are Ph.D. holders. They all share their research backgrounds. The curriculum is updated and I don't know about other branches but our branch makes students industry-ready as we have 90% mechanical subjects and 20% MBA subjects. Semester exams are at par. If you study consistently for 3 hrs regularly then you will ace semesters. There is nothing to worry much.
Other: There are around 13,000 students all from different departments of engineering, arts, and Science. A holistic growth will happen after 4 years and you will learn ethics. I chose the course because I want to pursue MBA and production has a scope in Arduino. Fests are awestruck like Sanskriti and Srijan You will get various clubs to grow urself overall from sports to mountaineering to coding to debate to dance to finance newly made to motorsports to chess, etc. Go according to your choice and interests.

    Yes, last year closing rank for SC was 15509. You should wait till the 3rd round. I think you might get it. Do the counseling procedure and wait till 3rd round.

    It is worth to do mechanical engineering because many company look for them in core sector.as they have more technical knowledge.its some part is managemental. so has scopes but mechanical is more useful in core sector.

    No way.if a general candidate.and if u are of west bengal.and have some quota like sc quota .minority quota .sports quota then u have a chance. if not then can give nxt yr wid bettrr preparation.
