LPU offers a four-year BDes programme spread across eight semesters. The university offers LPU at the UG level in eight specialisations. Apart from regular BDes, LPU also offers lateral entry to the programme. The university provides lateral entry to three BDes specialisations. Candidates can check below the eligibility criteria for the BDes course:
Eligibility: A pass in Class 12 with English with at least 50% aggregate is required to apply for LPU BDes programme. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in the English medium. There is a 5% relaxation for students from North-east states and Sikkim or defence personnel and their dependents or wards of Kashmiri migrants.
Eligibility for BDes Lateral Entry
Candidates need to complete three-year Diploma in Interior/ Architecture/ Civil after completing Class 10 or two or one-year diploma after Class 12 to apply for BDes (LE).

LPU admission process begins with the registration process followed by selection rounds. Candidates can check below the steps to get into the LPU BDes programme:
Step 1: LPU BDes Application Process 2026
The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check below the steps to apply for LPU admission:
Step 1: Visit the official website of LPU, https://www.lpu.in/, and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.
2Step 2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).

This step is applicable only to the aspirants appearing for LPU NEST. In LPUNEST slot booking, aspirants need to select an exam date and a shift for appearing in the exam. There are two ways to book the slot that are slot booking by the candidate and slot booking by the authorities of Lovely Professional University.
Step 3: Selection
LPU shortlists candidates for BDes programme based on LPUNEST, UCEED, NID Entrance Exam or NIFT Entrance Exam score. Candidates can also get admission to BDes based on CUET scores. The university will also consider the academic performance of the candidates for final selection. For lateral entry, the admission will be based on merit in the last qualifying exam.

Really great exposure and good facilities.
Placements: I am currently in my 4th year and half of my batch is already doing OJTs and has received pre-placement offers. The highest package till now is 28 lacs, and the average package is 8 lacs. Companies like Trident, Raymond, Afflatus, H&M, etc. come during placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing. The quality of the labs and equipment is great. All the classrooms have ACs. They have their own university hospital, university malls and university bistro. The food courts have various food options within their budget. They is a central library and the department's own libraries.
Faculty: The faculty is, in reality, helpful and cool. They don't get you bored. They make you industry-ready; you can work in any circumstances. The exams are pretty easy, too. You have a class assignment of 30 midterms and endterms of 70. All the teachers are well qualified.
Other: I chose this university due to its diversity and great exposure. There are various student organizations you can join or make one. The events are really awesome and you can witness various celebrities as well.

Satisfied with the University. Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: 20% of them were placed.3 d modelling were the most offered jobs in my course. The highest package was 5 LPA, the lowest was 2.5 LPA and the average was 3.25 LPA. Esperanza was the top recruiter for my batchmates and many of them were selected for the company. Graphic designers were also hired.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is superb and labs are also well maintained. The classrooms were neat and clean. The hostel was average as per promised and mess food was also average. The canteen's food quality was way better than mess food. The medical facilities were great. Cleanliness is levelled great too.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified and helpful. The teaching quality was superb. Some of the curriculam were industry-ready. Semester exams were not so tough. Practicals were a bit tricky to clear as you have to be precise in front of the faculty. The pass percentage was 50.

There is the best infrastructure with good placements and faculty members.
Placements: LPU is known for its placements record. Top MNCs recruit students of LPU to work for them. Every year many multinational companies visit LPU to recruit students. From the bachelor of design product and industrial design, above 60% of students were placed through campus placements. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA, whereas the highest salary package offered was 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies here were Amazon India, Air Vistara, Barbeque Nation and some product-based firms.
Infrastructure: LPU has above 11 libraries with more than 20 lacs books and also E-books in different fields. The classrooms are very spacious and well maintained. There are also completely equipped Apple Mac labs, Cisco labs, multimedia labs and many more. They all are well furnished and user-friendly. Wi-Fi is also available on the campus. LPU has the most beautiful hostels with good ventilation and provides good and healthy food in the mess and canteen. There is also a university hospital inside the campus in case of medical emergencies. LPU is known for its diversity in sports, and students who are interested in any kind of sports are always supported. In Tokyo Olympics 2020, about 11 LPU students represented India in various fields.
Faculty: Most qualified and well-educated faculty members are provided in LPU. They teach us with almost complete knowledge and the best quality of learning. The curriculum is very well explained. The knowledge provided here is mostly practical and industrial-based, which helps students in their future. The end-term examinations conducted in our course are mostly presentations of the whole portfolio made in the semester.
Other: I am from B.Des product and industrial design. I chose LPU because, in India, it is one of the best universities for design. LPU also provides many scholarships for most of the students. We can see the diversity of people in LPU from many countries around the world.

There is good infrastructure, but there are average teaching and placements.
Placements: The placement rate is 50% here, but the average salary package offered is very low compared to other reputed colleges. The role offered in our course is a product designer in the company. The placement rate is very less, and maybe it will increase in future. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The food and room services of the hostel are good, and there are laundry and Wi-Fi facilities. Hostels are safe and peaceful to study, and everything is done according to time. Warden takes attendance of students regularly. Security staff members are available day and night. There are cameras and fire extinguishers on every floor.
Faculty: The teaching is average because half of the faculty members are highly engaging, while others just do their work for the sake of jobs. The exam system needs a lot of changes. Marks are given inappropriately. The grading system needs to be changed. Some teachers don't focus on teaching.
Other: I chose product design because it gives opportunities and challenges to problems. I wish that the fee should be half of the total fee, at least in the pandemic period, because our university doesn't provide opportunities to work in the workshop. We miss our practical syllabus.

As a designing student, I am very dissatisfied with the university.
Placements: Placement services are good for business and engineering students here. Our college conducts only a few placement drives for designing students. Graphics students don't have proper placements in those drives. They get placements in Amazon and Flipkart but not in any production house.
Infrastructure: Hostel charges are high compared to the type of food served. The quality of the food served is not much good. However, sports, gym and games facilities are absolutely fine. Stationery items are provided at reasonable prices as well. Our college provides students with a bicycle and auto-rickshaw to travel around the campus. The charges for them are also reasonable.
Faculty: The multimedia department doesn't have qualified teachers like other departments. Only a few of them are knowledgeable. Most of the teachers who actually had knowledge have resigned from the college this year. However, every faculty member is very helpful, and they coordinate with students very well during events.

For me, LPU is my other home.
Placements: 80%-85% of students were placed in our course. The highest package is 12L per annum & the lowest package is 6L per annum. It all depends on the skills of an individual person & our seniors got placed in amazon, tata & Yashraj films. Some of our seniors have done job as a VFX artist in movies such as Bahubali, Krish 3 & Avatar.
Infrastructure: You will get good speed. Wi-Fi on the whole campus & classrooms are also good. In my opinion, LPU hostels are very good in terms of food & hospitality. LPU has its own hospital inside the campus which is open 24*7 and our university has gym facility too.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good & yes our teachers are helpful & qualified as well. Our teachers have good experience in their fields & have done a very good job. This course curriculum is relevant & yes it make the students industry-ready. I really love the faculty members of LPU.
Other: Our college generates fest, events & much more. All these are managed by the students themselves.
