LPU University BDes Highlights 2026
Lovely Professional University BDes course is a four year UG level course which is offered in full-time mode. There are 9 specialisations of BDes at LPU which include BDes in Interior & Furniture, Graphics, Product & Industrial, Film & TV Production, User interface/ User Experience, etc.
More details of BDes courses can be found below:
- Seats: Out of all specialisatons, BDes in Fashion has the highest intake of 60 seats.
- Fees: Total tuition fees for all BDes courses ranges between INR 6.4 lakh to INR 11.2 lakh. BDes in Film and TV Production has the lowest fees out of all specialisations. Rest of them have the same tuition fees.
- Eligibility Criteria: Candidates need to pass Class 12 board exams with a minimum aggregate of 50% (5% relaxation North-East states and Sikkim, Defence Personnel, their dependents, and wards of Kashmiri migrants) from a recognised board in any stream with English as a mandatory subject to be eligible for LPU University BDes admission.
- Accepted Entrance Exam: LPUNEST / UCEED / NIT / NIFT / CUET-UG / Merit Based if aggregate of 90% or higher

LPU B.DesLPU University BDes Fees 2026
Lovely Professional University BDes fees structure is comprised of eight installments of tuition, hostel and examination fees and some one-time payments such as caution deposit and admission processing charges.
LPU BDes fees is the same for all specialisations except for Film and TV Production specialisation which has the lowest total tuition fees. Candidates who take lateral entry into BDes at LPU are only charged until their course duration.
Candidate who choose to cancel their BDes admission from LPU are eligible to receive refunds under UGC norms. LPU fees will be refunded as shown in below table in such cases:

LPU University BDes Admission and Application Process 2026
Lovely Professional University BDes course admission is conducted on entrance basis. Candidates can appear in national level entrance exams such as UCEED, NID and NIFT before completing LPU BDes applicaton process. However, if candidates do not have a score in these exams, they can register for LPUNEST during this process to get admission into BDes courses. In cases where a candidate has scored a minimum aggregate in Class 12th of over 90%, they can apply directly for LPU admission to BDes courses.

STEP 1: Lovely Professional University BDes Application Process
- Go to Lovely Professional University's website.
- Click on Apply Now and fill registration form.
- Login, choose preferred BTech course and complete filling admission form.
- Upload all requested documents.
- Pay Lovely Professional University BDes application fees of INR 1,000.
Documents Required at the Time of Admission
- Class 10th and Class 12th passing certificate and marksheet
- Entrance exam scorecard
- Aadhar card
- Passport sized photograph
STEP 2: Selection of Candidates
After submitting admission forms, LPU will begin selection process for all BDes courses. Candidaes are selected for this course primarily based on UCEED, NID, NIFT or LPUNEST result. If these results result in a tie, selection will also consider Class 12 board exam scores as well. Selected candidates will be issued provisional admission letters.
STEP 3: Confirmation of Seat
In the final stage, candidates are required to pay admission fees to confirm their seat in chosen BDes course. This fees is a small portion of total tuition fees which is mentioned on admission letter issued to a candidate. Total amount will also include processing charges of INR 10,000. Provisional admission letter also includes a deadline for payment of this fees. Final stage of BDes admission is concluded with document verification following which, a candidate's seat is confirmed at LPU.
Commonly asked questions On Application Process
LPU NEST application form fee for a soft copy of the LPU NEST 2026 Kit is INR 1000 for boys and girls. The printed copy of the LPU NEST Kit is available for INR 1500 for boys and girls. The application fee can be paid online if the application form is filled out online. The application fee can be given as a demand draft if the application form is submitted offline. If the DD is not enclosed or DD is wrongly drawn, the application form will not be accepted. The application fee has to be paid to submit the application form.
Yes, candidates can apply for all courses of LPU University including BDes course while awaiting Class 12 board exam results.
Such candidates will be allotted provisional admission into BDes if they are selection during LPU selection process.
They will be given a deadline after their result is declared for submission of final marksheet.

LPU B.DesLPU University BDes Seats 2026
LPU BDes seats are distributed unevenly across all specialisations. Out of all of them, BDes in Fashion has the highest intake while Product and Industrial has the lowest intake at LPU University. However, certain seats are also reserved for lateral entry admissions which are always lower than first year admission intake.
All of these seats are allotted based on scores obtained in one of UCEED, NID, NIFT or LPUNEST. No policies or rules exist for Lovely Professional University BDes seat reservations. This institute offers only concessions in admission criteria for special category candidates.

LPU admission to BDes course is based on entrance exam. The university accepts UCEED, NID Entrance Exam, CUET UG or NIFT Entrance Exam. Aspirants who have not appeared for any of the national-level entrance exam can appear for LPUNEST conducted by the university.
