Most beautiful campus compared to other NITs.

Placements: The percentage of students who have been placed this year is approximately 96 percent and last year it was 100 per cent. However only 3 to 4 students got a 20 LPA or 24 LPA package and the remaining all got a 5 LPA package which is why I gave 3 stars. Sometimes ONGC, IOCL, and GAIL also come at the time of placement and most of the students got placement.

Infrastructure: In the first year you get Kailash Boys' hostel where in the first 2 months, the facility of the mess is good but the quality of this goes down. After completion of the first year other hostels are also good and their mess is also very good. Wi-Fi facility is too poor and a night canteen is available, and all games are excluded. Indoor and outdoor activities excluding swimming are available.

Faculty: 1st year faculty is not that good but after this in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are too good and helpful. They always teach more than enough according to the syllabus. This is also good for other competition exams like GATE and many others. The semester exams are difficult but all are there from notes and the pass percentage is 95 percent.

Other: Chemical Engineering is not that much better compared to CSE and other branches. There are many fests in a year and the main event is Nimbus and Hillfair and too much crowd gathers at that time.

Best weather, strict faculty, trips are absolutely heaven, and more than average placements.

Placements: More than 95% students are placed every year, and most of the time, there are 100% placements. The average package is 6–7 LPA. Top companies also include Siemens, Accenture, Quizziz, and core chemical companies. Internships are mostly in Technip, BIS, ONGC, IOCL, and research internships in IITs.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the hostel, library, and lecture halls. The library is central, fully air-conditioned, and has blowers in winters. Departments are really nice except the MNC department, which has only classrooms and not exactly a separate department. Hostels are quite nice and get lenient as you move to higher years. Mess food is more than good except in HBH boys hostel. Ground and SAC are there for extracurricular activities, sports, and games, and the gym is also there, separate for girls and boys.

Faculty: Teachers have quite great knowledge on the subject as far as I see in my own department, and the teaching quality is good. They prepare you well through tests and viva to be placement ready. Some semesters are easy and some are tough. Overall, you'll not get a backlog as far as you cover class notes. It’s easy to get 9 SGPA almost every semester except two.

Other: I chose this course because I got through JoSAA counselling, but I wanted CSE. Anyways, college and campus life have been quite fun. Weather, scenery, and Himachal trips are the best. Fests are fun but not comparable to IITs. The girls-to-boys ratio is very good here, and all types of activities are promoted, fun, NGO, growth, promoting fitness, tree plantation, etc. Classes have a 75% attendance criteria and no relation if you fail or perform poorly in exams.

NIT Hamirpur engineering course admission taken in 2025-26.

Placements: This college's placement facilities are very good because 70 to 80% of students are placed in companies. These companies provide salaries ranging from 6 lacs to 20 lacs, with the highest package at this college. These companies require a 2-year agreement to be signed, stating that students will not leave the company for 2 years.

Infrastructure: in this course, there are many facilities available for the student, like a classroom, a bathroom, a library, auditorium, CCTV, a canteen, hostel, etc. facilities are available. in this college, the canteen food is very tasty and hygienic, and many sports and games are organized every year.

Faculty: Teachers in this course are also good, with very high-level education and experience. This course has a total duration of 3 to 4 years, and the exam is very difficult because there are very lengthy answers required for one question to get the highest marks, and hard questions are asked in the exam.

Campus that holds a touch of nature along with studying and fun during various events.

Placements: In chemical engineering at NIT Hamirpur, placement opportunities are quite well. Near about 85% of students are placed with companies like Technip, Aditya Birla, Adani, JSW, Baker Hughes, etc. All of the students had done their internships in 3rd year from institutes like NFL, DRDO, ONGC, IOCL, etc.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the entire college is great, if you are a nature-loving person and come from a busy city. Also, the facilities offered are well. There is Wi-Fi connection across the entire campus. The library has great collection of books related to curriculum as well as for book lovers. Hostel facilities are good as well. There are various food outlets present inside as well as outside the campus.

Faculty: Teachers from all departments are good. But speaking more precisely about the chemical department, all teachers are very well versed in their syllabus. They have vast knowledge about the subjects and are very helpful. The course curriculum is theoretical as well as has some labs as well.

Other: There are two fests held one cultural i.e., Hill'affair and one technical i.e., Nimbus. Along with that, there are multiple other events that take place around the year.

Good environment overall, but the hostels are of very bad quality, with several water problems.

Placements: Around 76 students are in my batch. The highest package for chemical engineering last year (2023) was 52 lakh, while the lowest is not specified. The top recruiter was HUL (Hindustan Unilever), and a total of 100% of students got placed last year, with an average package of around 10 lakh.

Infrastructure: Most of the faculty is knowledgeable and good, but some teachers are quite rude and misbehave. Certain lectures can be hard to understand because of the teachers' accents. They also frequently remind us that we are beneath them, which I feel is inappropriate when addressing freshers.

Faculty: Some teachers have very good knowledge and behavior, while others are rude and misbehave. They try to portray themselves as superior while ensuring that even the slightest mistakes are pointed out at every opportunity.
