Very good. Actually, I have no problem in placement, studies, or other activities.

Placements: Very good placement rate, 97 percent. The highest package is 31 LPA, the average is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 9 LPA. Many companies come, and then there is an interview. Students study together, which benefits everyone. In fact, most of the students get an internship. Civil is a very good branch, so come to this college for placement.

Infrastructure: Very good classrooms, which also have AC inside, and a new sports complex is being built. Ethernet is available in the rooms. The rooms are very good and have table, chair, fan, and bed. Most of the books are provided in the library. There is also a night canteen for night stays, which has almost all the food items.

Faculty: Teachers are very good in nature, and apart from studies, they also talk about other activities and placements. College exams are not that hard if any student studies a little properly. During exam time, teachers also tell important questions, and almost all the students pass the exams. 33 percent is required.

Other: I don't want to say anything about the college, because the college is very good.

College infrastructure is nice, faculty is very supportive, and placements are good.

Placements: My course is civil engineering, and the placement rate in civil engineering is good, and the internship rate is also good in this college. This year, the highest package in civil engineering is 62.44 LPA and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Every year, 85-90 percent of students got placed.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is nice. Hostels are good, and the environment in hostels is also good. The canteen and medical facilities are also good. Sports and games are good. Students play in the NIT or many sports and fests every year. There is a gym in every hall for students.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and supportive, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is the best, which helps students in their fields to do more. Semester exams are said to be moderate, so students need to study to pass. Passing percentage is said to be 95-100 percent.

Other: The college campus is very large in area, and the lecture complexes are very nice.

Review of Civil Engineering Department at NIT Rourkela.

Placements: About 90% Students were placed in civil engineering. The highest package was 20 LPA, and the lowest package was 6,00,000 per annum. Average package was about 10,00,000 per annum. Top recruiting companies are Tata Projects, BPCL, TCS, and Larsen and Toubro. About 50% students secured intensive. And mostly got an internship at Tata. Some of the top roles offered are site engineer, project manager, etc.

Infrastructure: There are advanced, well-equipped labs for all major civil engineering disciplines. The classrooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and have smart boards. The Central Library has a large collection of civil engineering books and access to journals and digital resources. There are double occupancy rooms available. Mess food is average. Colleges 24 into seven ambulance service. And a well-equipped campus health center.

Faculty: Most civil engineering faculty members are highly qualified. Some have done their Ph.D. at IITs or at International Universities. Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. The course is not relevant, and new specialities are not included, hence a lack in industry demands. The semester exams are moderate, and almost all the students pass.

Review of civil engineering department at NIT Rourkela.

Placements: About 80 to 90% of students are placed by my department. The highest package is 20,00,000 LPA, and the lowest package is 6,00,000 LPA. While the average package is around 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Larsen and Toubro, Tata Projects, BPCL, public sector, and many more. About 50% of the students secured internships from the course. Top run offers are site engineer, civil engineer, project management, and many more.

Infrastructure: There are recruitments that cover the essentials for undergraduate research. We have air-conditioned rooms with smart boards. There is 24X7 internet access available using LAN cable. Library contains good collection of civil engineering books, and has access to journals and digital resources. There are double occupancy rooms available. The mess food is average, and the mess serves four meals daily. There is Kemple Medical Center, which has 24X7 ambulance service.

Faculty: Most of the civil engineering faculty members are qualified. They have a Ph.D. from top universities like IITs, and some are also from international universities. Reports are not highly relevant and do not include new specialties but now, it is industry standards or what industry demands. The semester exams are moderate, and about 80% of students pass.

College is good but in a small city.

Placements: Most of the students get placed; it is about 100%, but the average placement is just about 10 LPA, the highest 19 LPA, and the lowest 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T and Godrej construction. Internship opportunities are quite low; they can be up to 35%, with companies like L&T and Godrej. The top role is software developer.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is quite good. Everything like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library is available and is in good condition. Rooms are also nice; Wi-Fi is available. In a room, up to 2 students reside. Each hostel has a gym, canteen, reading room, and badminton court. There are two big grounds and a swimming pool. The infrastructure for most games is available.

Faculty: Teachers are nice. They are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, though some teachers can be exceptions. It is difficult to say something about the course curriculum; some courses are good, but students have to prepare on their own to get good placements. Semester exams are moderate, and 80 percent of students pass.

Other: I choose civil engineering because I thought it is easy. Something more practical can improve the course. About 4-5 main events are done every year .

Lush green campus, awesome fests and average placements.

Placements: Almost 100% were placed. The highest was almost 15-18 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. Tata and other famous companies were the top recruiters. Almost 50% got internships. Many roles were engineering positions. The placement was pretty decent, better than private colleges and also better than many other NITs.

Infrastructure: There was Wi-Fi available in the hostel, and ACs in classrooms and libraries were also equipped with Wi-Fi. The hostel provides good facilities and cleanliness, along with good sports facilities. In the hostel, there are facilities for table tennis, badminton, volleyball, and football.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, but a few I don’t prefer. The course curriculum was relevant from the perspective of civil engineering. Semester exams were pretty conceptual; 4-5 students out of 80-90 failed. Some of the teachers seem to be least interested in teaching, while some are awesome.

Other: I chose this course due to its vast application in the government sector. I think it should be more AI-based. Fests are one of the best things about my college.

College is good and also all facilities are available with good campus size.

Placements: Mostly 90% of students got placed with average CTC of 10 LPA in my branch. The highest salary is 20 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, BPCL, Accenture, TCS, Texas, and many more. Many students got internships in companies like Texas Instruments, TVS, and Godrej for civil core with 50%. Top roles are management and consulting.

Infrastructure: Facilities are good and infrastructure is outstanding with Wi-Fi in hostel and library. Classroom has smart boards and all. Library has many books. Food quality is medium, and canteen is available all over. We have a dispensary with free treatment and all. Sports and games facilities are also available.

Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful and well-qualified. Teaching quality is medium. Course structure is according to the branch and students are present. It makes students industry-ready. Semester examinations are the most difficult, and pass percentage is 99%.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it. Best thing is the site visit. Better it has its own department building.

Placements: Currently, I am in the 3rd year, and my department is Civil Engineering. To be honest, in Civil, high placements are relatively rare, and many students are focusing on coding. Last year, the highest package in Civil was 15.6 LPA, and the lowest package was around 4.3 LPA.

Infrastructure: Our classes are really good. The classrooms have digital boards and are AC. The department is also excellent. Our hostel rooms are quite nice, with two students sharing one room. The mess is very close to the hostel, and the hostel food is also very good.

Faculty: Professors at our NIT are highly qualified. Almost all of them have cleared IIT-level exams. They explain any questions very clearly. The courses offered by our department are helpful and extremely useful for our future jobs. Each semester lasts for 6 months. Every semester includes two main exams. They are mid and end-semester, which are quite tough to pass. The passing mark is 35 out of 100.

Other: In the future, I want to work in a government job, which is why I choose civil engineering. I will try for the UPSC exam.
