Best University in north India.
Placements: Almost 75 % of the students were placed.
Around 6 LPA is the highest package and 3.3 LPA is the lowest one. Pharma and chemical companies along with that education and industrial companies were also there. The top roles were practical applications of Chemistry and its interdisciplinary courses.
Infrastructure: Labs were clean and all equipment was well maintained. Library has huge collections of foreign and Indian authors' books. The canteen and mess provide good and clean food. The hostel was clean and hygienic. A hostel facility is available for all the departments. Transportation by e-rickshaw was there. The University campus has all the useful shops like pharmacies, stationery, groceries etc.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and they explain concepts well. The curriculum was relevant as per UGC. Exams are balanced. The midterms, as well as semester exams, are balanced. The teacher makes us understand the concept thru presentation too. The curriculum is balanced and doesn't seem a burden.
Other: The crowd and campus were amazing. It's fun to be a part of pu. So many cultural fests take place every year.

Placements and infrastructure are average. Excellent teachers and the best library access.
Placements: Placements in the department of chemistry at Panjab University, Chandigarh are not particularly well versed. It collaborates with university placement cell, but chemistry being a basic core field, industrial placements are of little importance. Being a final year student in masters, all I came across was Aakash Institute which offered the highest salary package among others, i.e., about 8 LPA. Other pharmaceutical companies also visited like Baddi based company ANM, and others were Cipla, Mankind, etc. They hardly offered a salary package of about 2 LPA. If we talk about internships, most of my peers secured good internships in IITs and IISERs during summer break through SRFP. They were offered a stipend of Rs. 5,000 for 2 months. They were mostly selected on the basis of their academic records. They had an added advantage of just having more hands-on experience in laboratory work.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in the department of chemistry at Panjab University, Chandigarh is just average. The department consists of excellent professors and scientists, but it lacks proper infrastructure. The roofs leak in the rainy season and make the corridors full of water. The department and the whole Panjab University campus are Wi-Fi enabled. It has one computer lab primarily for computational chemistry practicals, but the systems are too old to be used. The best part of this department is the library. It is equipped with very good books, and we can get almost every foreign and local author books. Even scientific journals are available there. The canteen in our department serves good and hygienic food, and the same goes for every hostel of Panjab University.
Faculty: Faculty members in the department of chemistry at Panjab University are excellent. The assistant professors and senior professors are well qualified in their spheres of expertise. The department has a seminar room and a big room with a projector which is quite often used by teachers. Student to faculty ratio is perfect, and it depends on the curriculum that one studies. The college lags in providing industrial exposure, but the hectic schedule of students does not particularly permit it. Moreover, a class of about 60 students requires to take permission to conduct a visit. The curriculum of B.Sc. and M.Sc. are very good and is in accordance with the NET syllabus.
Other: Events, fest, and fun and frolic activities are not organised in the college. The department concentrates more on studies and less on extracurricular activities.

Almost satisfied with the curriculum but not with the placements
Placements: There are quite a small number of placements and this trend has been observed over the past 5 years, as I know.
The majority of the companies that pay the visit are localites from regions like Baddi and from the nearby union territory, Chandigarh.
Else, the children who have strong links and network manage to get lab assistant roles and package around 4.5 LPA.
Usually, most of the students prefer to pursue internships in PGIMER firstly because of convenience. The department gives freedom to choose according to their choice.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi and network facilities are adequately working inside the campus. Moreover, it offers high security, so the place is safe to a large extent. The canteens are the heart of the campus.
The food is one of the best and its quality is good.
One or two issues that are faced by the hostel students is the experience with animals like monkeys around the hostels.
Faculty: Teaching is more interactive rather than just note-taking and attending lectures for the sake of attendance.
The student to faculty ratio is around 40:1. Apart from this, there are many lab attendants. As compared to other departments, industry exposure is less.

Almost dissatisfied with placements, but the overall facilities offered are considered to be great.
Placements: The placements are almost nil. The college does not prepare us for the placements. We are usually supposed to pursue higher studies. Only 5% of the senior batch got placed in the university placements with an average package of 4-5 lakhs per annum. It can be considered nil as compared to the placements of engineering and management departments.
Infrastructure: The funds raised from the department usually are spent on maintenance, but the university is the best place to seek an admission especially for the children from the middle-class family. It's a big packet which offers excellent food and resources like books, etc. at an economical price.
Faculty: The faculty are well educated and helpful, but they provide their support until college hours and don't support for an extra initiative, and this is true for a majority of the faculty. The curriculum keeps the students packed with projects, and they are rarely left with any time to prepare for the future goals.

Satisfied to a large extent with the university exposure and value for money.
Placements: The placements hardly happen. Every year only once the job fest happens, and only a few candidates get the job and start earning back. In statistics, the data can be best described as in our department around 10 out of 120 students grab the opportunity. The average package received by them is 4-5 lacs per annum, and this number hardly exceeds.
Infrastructure: The university has one the best campuses for all the students as they provide with ample of opportunities such as the wide number of food plazas and maximum facilities for the fitness and to promote sports as it has the separate department for it. Every department has its library which consists of required books.
Faculty: The faculty members are stringent and its approach especially with postgraduate students apart from this, they are educated, helpful and experienced. Some of the faculty members are honourable guest lecturers at the other colleges. Despite all this, the campus lacks the new and interactive teaching equipment for making the teaching fun. There are no industrial visits as well.
