The best college with a variety of students and faculty.
Placements: Our college has had 100% placements in our college for the last three years. The highest salary package that was offered to us was 45 LPA, the lowest salary package was 5 LPA, and the average salary package was 3.25 LPA. The top recruiting companies in our college include Microsoft, Google, Big Data, Accenture, Infosys, etc. Almost every student from our course got an internship in their domain.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in our college was fabulous. The facilities in our college, like labs, classrooms, and libraries, are the best. But as it is situated on the mountain, we have to face some issues regarding the mobile network and Wi-Fi. They are also not so good. The hostel was good and all the other facilities were excellent, but there was a little issue with the water supply as the college was situated in the mountains. There is also a little problem with accommodation outside the campus, as very little accommodation was available for a huge crowd of students, which resulted in increased charges for accommodation.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were knowledgeable, interactive, and very helpful. The curriculum covers all the subjects which will be essential for industrial purposes. The labs were also good with the latest technology and full support was given by teachers and lab assistants, which results in great technical knowledge and operating tools and machinery.
Other: The faculty in our college were giving their best as it was our first batch of MCAs. Our college had many extracurricular activities. There are various fests and events that are performed at regular intervals of time.

Review of UPES - University of Petroleum and Energy Studies.
Placements: UPES is a good college, and it offers a lot of specializations in different branches. Placements in our college are quite low from 2018 onwards. UPES offers 45% placements for students. But the college fee is so much that the middle-class family can't afford to invest for their children.
Infrastructure: I am staying in a private hostel, which has a good ambience for study. The infrastructure of our college is good, and it offers many courses. There are 2 labs for automotive engineering where we learn about all the components of vehicles starting from chassis to powertrain. Wi-Fi speed is not so good. Labs have a good range of equipment. Our campus has 3-floors library with a good sitting space. Quite interesting books are available in the library, and we can utilise our quality time.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college focus more on academics.

The infrastructure and placements are good. The faculty are friendly providing good guidelines.
Placements: The placements are good on the campus. Almost 88% of the students got placed on the campus. The average salary package was around 4.5 LPA. Around 2-3 students get paid internship, and the rest of them have to manage their own. The college sends your name for an internship for two months, but it is not paid internship as you just get training in the different sectors but a few of them get paid. Overall, the internship placing is 100%.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is enabled with the Wi-Fi facility. The classrooms are well-designed. The greenery environment surrounding the campus is one of the best things. The labs are well-designed, and there are separate departments for each course. There is a medical facility within the campus which is 24-hours ready to serve you. There are two food courts in the college, which serves the quality food of Chinese and South Indian. There is a little rush in ATM as there is a sort of money many times in which I disappointment a little, and rest all the things are good.
Faculty: The teachers are good and helpful, and they will always be there to help you in your studies and project. The students shouldn't fear and be friendly with the faculty members and put your maximum effort to be and interact with them. If you have a speaking problem or interact with others, you can take communication class within the campus. There is also PEP class, which will help you a lot.
Other: There are a lot of curricular activities on the campus, and there are places to hang out with friends.

Overall the development of the students is good whereas the placements are above average.
Placements: During the 3rd year, all the students will get the internship in reputed companies across the country, which gives industrial exposure to students. Moreover, it helps the students to understand and correlate the industrial problems and work with their studies. There are many reputed companies visited the campus for placements during the 7th semester, and around 50% student got placed in 7th semester itself. The rest of the students are placed during the 8th semester. There are 28 out of 37 students got placed during the campus placements whereas four students opted out from placement process and gone for higher studies.
Infrastructure: University of petroleum and energy studies have two buildings. One is located in Bidholi, and the other campus is in Kandoli that is 3km away from Bidholi campus. It is located on the hill, and it is 9km from Prema Nagar, via Nanda ki chowki, Dehradun. The Bidholi campus is surrounded by a mountain and has a very beautiful view. The infrastructure of the college is marvellous. The location is awesome. The clouds collide with college building in the morning, and it is a wonderful view.
Faculty: In Mining Engineering course, there are only two faculty members that are from mining background whereas the other faculty members are from Geology and they teach mining. The course curriculum is made concerning the future scenario which emphasises on deep sea mining and polymetallic nodule.
Other: Every year, the student chapters organise one technical fest in the college in which there are pools of events. Those students who secure top two ranks in class and more than 3.67/4 points have no tuition fees in that semester.

Nice faculty and decent infrastructure.
Placements: The placements here at UPES are fine around 80 percent of the students in our senior batches are placed in well reputed companies. The highest package that is offered to a geo Science student is around 12 to 14 Lacs and the lowest is around 3 Lacs to a student.
Infrastructure: The college has its own Wi-Fi named UPESNET. The labs here have a separate department named as R&D department where are the labs are present. Here the canteen is fine with hygienic food and the classrooms are big enough for 70 students and we have a huge library of 3 floors.
Faculty: Most of the faculty is IITs passed with some faculty with Ph.D. from UPES itself also they are very helpful to the students. All the classroom test, assignments and tutorial sheets are uploaded online to the UPES blackboard website. The industry exposure is given to the students in third year and also here there are 23 types of faculty members.
Other: Here there are two type of fest first the normal fest Urja and the other Tech fest named as ignite. Urja is of 2 days whereas ignite is of 3 days.

Dissatisfied because of the faculty, placements, and the subjects were entirely different.
Placements: This college has fine placements, and the highest package is 8 LPA from our branch. Vedanta, Balaji constructions, SGX minerals, everyone got the internship, and it is not a paid internship. There is a placement cell, its actually good career service providers, and there is no senior batch as we are the first batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but the college is not in according to the department wise. The labs are good, and there is a biggest playground. The food is good, and the hostels are well cleaned and maintained, I didn't feel any infrastructure issues, and there should be more labs. There are many labs with the good infrastructure, and I just thought there should be departments.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, and the teaching is good. The student to the faculty ratio is 30:1. The course curriculum was useful, and there should be more teachers for our department, and only two teachers were taking the whole course curriculum, and we need more teachers for our department and the other departments. We have been to industries for the practical knowledge, and it was very helpful.
Other: Uurja is the annual cultural fest celebrated in this college.

University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) conducts the examination every year online for the admission of suitable candidates to its various BTech courses. It is a self-financed, UGC and AICTE approved University. Apart from meeting the eligiiblity requirement, candidates also need to pass either UPESMET/ CAT/ CUET PG for admission to MBA course. In case, any aspirant fails to secure the minimum marks* specified by the university, he or she will need to appear for UPESMET. For admission to Global MBA, aspirants only need to come for the PI round. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview round for further selection. After completion of the selection rounds, aspirants will need to prove their eligibility by provding necessary documents for verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

No, JEE Main is not mandatory for UPES Dehradun BTech admission. While the university accepts the scores of the exam, it is not the only accepted exam. Students can also submit scores of UPESEAT/ SAT India/ CUET exams for BTech admission.
