How to challenge JEE Main 2026 answer key? The NTA will release official JEE Mains 2026 Answer Key, along with JEE Main Response sheet and official JEE Mains 2026 question paper PDF. The provisional answer key is released first, and candidates can challenge JEE Main 2026 answer key if they are not satisfied with answers. The steps to challenge JEE Main answer key can be completed through candidate login and require a payment of INR 200 per question. The submitted objections will be reviewed by NTA, after which final JEE Main answer key 2026 will be released. The final answer key will be used to calculate JEE Main Result 2026. What is JEE Main Answer Key Challenge?

There can be some inconsistencies in the JEE Main answer key releases by NTA. If candidates feels that the answers given by the NTA in JEE Answer Key are wrong, they can report it to NTA. This process of reporting any inconsistencies in the JEE Main answer key is called JEE Main answer key challenge process. Candidates can dispute any inconsistencies or discrepancies in the JEE Main 2026 official answer key through this facility. 

Why Should I Challenge the JEE Main 2026 Answer Key?

If candidates believe a marked answer is correct and the official key suggests otherwise, they have the option to challenge it. This process provides transparency in the result preparation process. Based on the challenges received NTA will make changes in the answer key if they find the challenges relevant. After any changes in the provisional JEE Main 2026 answer key, NTA will release the final answer key based on which the JEE Main 2026 result is prepared. Thus candidates must challenge the JEE Main answer key, if they feel answers in the answer key are wrong. This will lead to the fair calculation of the JEE Main result.

How to Challenge JEE Main 2026 Answer Key

To challenge answer key, candidates need to log in to official website using their respective login credentials and pay a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200 per question. The payment can be made using credit/debit card, Net banking, UPI, or PAYTM service. If NTA approves challenge, fee will be refunded. 

The procedure to challenge the answer key involves logging in with the Application Number and Date of Birth/Password. At the Candidates’ Login Screen, candidates can select either “Challenge Answer Key” or “Challenge Recorded Response”. For Recorded Response, candidates can select the Question Number, Recorded Answer, and Claimed Answer, and then add it to the claims list. For the Answer Key, candidates can enter the book number, question number, answer, and claimed answer, and then add it to the claims list. 

Step-wise process to challenge JEE Main 2026 answer key is as follows

  • Visit the official JEE Main 2026 website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.
  • Click ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’.
  • Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth enter the Security PIN as displayed and Submit.
  • Click ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’.
  • You will see the Question IDs in the below sequential order for JEE Main 2026.
  • The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.
  • If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
  • You may upload supporting documents for which you can select ‘Choose File and Upload (all documents to be put in a single PDF file).
  • After clicking your desired option, for Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), Mathematics / Aptitude Test for Paper 2A (B.Arch.), and Mathematics / Aptitude Test / Planning for Paper 2B (B.Planning), scroll down and ‘Save you claim’ and move on to the next screen.
  • You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
  • Click on ‘Save your claim and Pay Fee finally’.
  • Select the Mode of Payment and Pay a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200/- for each question.

The candidates have to pay INR 200 per question challenged. Candidates can pay the JEE Main answer key challenge fee using any one of the following online modes:

  • Net banking
  • UPI
  • PAYTM service

JEE Main 2026 Final Answer Key

If challenges made by the candidate are found correct, the JEE Main 2026 Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final JEE Main Answer Key, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/nonacceptance of his/her challenge.

Objections raising fee in JEE Main answer key is INR 200 per question. You can pay it online using internet banking or credit/debit card. The exact fees to be paid depends on total questions selected for grievance.

A:
No, candidates cannot raise objections in the final answer key of JEE Mains. The facility to raise objections is provided only in the provisional answer key. NTA has clearly specified that candidates cannot raise objections in the JEE Main final answer key. The result of candidates is prepared on the basis of JEE Main final answer key.
Q:   How much is the fees for raising objections in JEE Main answer key?
A:

Candidates will be able to raise objections against the provisional JEE Main answer key 2024 online. For every objection, the candidates will have to pay INR 500. The fee payment has to be done online i.e., through credit card/debit card/net banking. If the candidates do not pay the required fee then their objections will not be accepted. Along with the fee, the candidates will also have to submit the supporting proof for the objections. 

Q:   How would I know if my challenge in JEE Mains answer key has been accepted?
A:

In case the JEE Main answer key challenge raised by the candidate is accepted, the NTA will send an email to the registered email address mentioning the details of question for which the objections has been accepted. The NTA will also send the details of correct answer for the questions.
