M.Tech. in Mechatronics - Batch of 2017

Vellore Institute of Technology is only for undergraduate students.
Placements: Placements were pretty bad. Less than 10 students were placed from our batch. Placements are good only for undergraduate students. Postgraduate students are not preferred by the multi-national companies. Companies like Cisco, Google, and Facebook only ask for B.Tech students.
Infrastructure: The lab facilities were good as compared to many colleges in Maharashtra. All the equipment is very well calibrated every time we visit the lab. All the equipment is of the latest technology. Many guest lecturers visit to introduce the latest technologies which are being used in the industry.
Faculty: The faculty members are good. But they have their own politics because of which a student's career and growth is hindered. It should be kept aside. Many good faculty members have left because of the same. Some great faculty members are working all on their own in this institute just for the students' sake. The course is great as it is related to all the technologies which are being used in the industries.

Satisfied with major things. Needs improvement in minor things. It has good placements.
Placements: In our mechatronic course, placements are 70 percent for students who are eligible. The highest package offered in the mechatronic course is 13 LPA, and in college is 60 LPA. The top recruiting companies in our course are Tata and Tech Mahindra. More than 53 percent of our course students got internships. The top role offered is the automation engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good and modern. In classrooms, there is no Wi-Fi or AC. In the hostel, both AC and non-AC options are available. The food served is average. The canteen is good. In labs, facilities are good with modern infrastructure, more than 500 Mbps Wi-Fi, and AC. Medical facilities are also available with a 24x7 ambulance facility. Sports activities are regularly conducted.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, and some are bad. We can choose our faculty based on our CGPA and attendance percentage. The course curriculum is good and updated to meet modern companies' requirements. Exams are mostly from average to most difficult and based on our faculty.
Other: The reason to choose the course is that we can get placed in any sector we want. The course is a mix of all courses, so we can learn a lot. The course goes very deep, affecting and understanding. Events are regular, and clubs are very vast, so we can choose anything. Interviews are also conducted. The connectivity is good.
